I went to work for her that summer A teenage kid so far from home, She was a lonely widow woman Hell bent to make it on her own We were a thousand miles from nowhere Wheat fields as far as I could see Both needing something from each other Not knowing yet what that might be.
'Til she came to me one evening Hot cup of coffee and a smile In a dress that I was certain She hadn't worn in quite a while There was a difference in her laughter There was a softness in her eye And on the air there was a hunger Even a boy could recognize
She had a need to feel the thunder To chase the lightning from the sky To watch a storm with all its wonder Raging in her lovers eye She to ride the heat of passion Like a comet burning bright Rushing headlong in the wind Our where all their dreams had been Burning both ends of the night
"That Summer" by Garth Brooks

We belong to the light, we belong to the thunder We belong to the sound of the words we've both fallen under Whatever we deny or embrace for worse or for better We belong, we belong, we belong together
Pat Benetar, We Belong

I've just seen a face, I can't forget the time or place Where we just met. She's just the girl for me And I want all the world to see We've met, mmm-mmm-mmm-m'mmm-mmm. Had it been another day I might have looked the other way And I'd have never been aware. But as it is I'll dream of her Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di.
Falling, yes I am falling, And she keeps calling Me back again

I'm so chill, no wonder it's freezing I'm so still, I just can't keep my fingers out of anything I'm so thrilled to finally be failing I'm so done, turn me over cause it Feels just like I'm falling for the first time

There's a cabin on a hill Near the town where time stands still Ashes from an old campfire And the door locked from inside
At the end of the road by the lake We opened up the gate While lifting the rusty chain I thought how strange to be here again
I get the feeling now that I'm here This wasn't such a good idea I thought of this as a get-away But it's just the same old place
There's a heart that is locked up tight In a chest kept out of sight Without love, without light Guarded by fear day and night
There is no way that I could pretend That I think of you as a friend This is the corner that I was in When I decided to paint this room again
I get the feeling now that I'm here This wasn't such a good idea I thought of this as a get-away But it's just the same old place
Haunted by the ghost of yourself Take a look above yourself Maybe one of these books will tell How you break out of a prison you built yourself
And I get the feeling now that I'm here This wasn't such a good idea I thought of this as a get-away But it's just the same old place

Oh the same old cliche, as that woman on her a man You always see my number, you don’t dare make a stand. Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage. Here I go, playing star again. There I go, turn the page.

I could tell the meaning of a word like serene I got some 'O' Grades when I was sixteen I can tell the difference between margarine and butter I can say "Saskatchewan" without starting to stutter
But I can't understand why we let someone else rule our land We're Cap in Hand
I could get a broken jaw from being in a fight I know its evening when day turns to night I can understand why Stranraer lie so lowly They could save a lot of points by signing Hibs Goalie
But I can't understand why we let someone else rule our land We're Cap in Hand
We fight - when they ask us We boast - then we cower We beg For a piece of Whats already ours
Once I thought I could make God a bribe So I said I was in his lost tribe Getting handouts can be so frustrating "Get in line son, there's five million waiting"
I can't understand why you let someone else rule your land You're Cap In Hand. ~Cap In Hand, The Proclaimers

So little girl with heroin so blue I guess our future is all up to you Through the battle sequence you must fight 'Til the morning turns to night
So imagine our world with no air Just follow the son, He'll take you where The night and the seas are all full of light 'Til the morning turns to night 'Til the morning, yeah, turns to night
Lenny Kravitz (yum!), When The Morning Turns To Night
