LOL, BNLater! We went and watched those crazy people in Ashtabula, Ohio when I was visiting my friend one time. Those people are LOONS!! I mean, I like the cold, but let's be reasonable!!

they have that at the Carnaval in Quebec City... how much do you wanna bet it's wackier up here, although a lot of people actually participate?

I jsut saw an online article and there is a nettle eating contest somewhere in southern England, or the cheese rolling, bog swimming wife carrying comps etc....England must be the international place for way out and wacky carnivals...
Saying that we've got one here called the HEnley on todd, and that is where you build a bottomless boat and "sail" it on the bare dry river bed - quite loony at the best of times

Ludwig, it is always crazier the colder the area. So I bet it is a bit wack up there.

Um. We don't do anything weird in New York.

I saw the one in Quebec on TV one year! There were people in their bathing suits building a sandcastle, but it was out of ice!! This from the person whose hometown offers a peanut butter carving contest. We also have the Polar Plunge here, but probably not quite as cold, and most people wear wetsuits.

Um. How do people reproduce in Quebec? That can't be good for the population.

is Quebec it's own nation? Does it have special rights like Texas does?
Anyone who does the polab bear club might be stupid enough to stay in there for a long period of time.
But I guess Darwin takes care of them, right?

Nah, but there have been referendums about us leaving Canada before (one in '80, one in '95), and the last one the 'No' side won by not even a percent... the next one promises to be interesting, as it might be included in the election, so if you vote for the party that wants to seperate, you're voting 'yes'... all very complicated indeed, even for most of us, myself included Yes, Darwin is good at taking care of these people
