I am hosting a Pleasure Party on Saturday night, nope, no stationary line at this party! Wendy says she is only coming for the food but I know her better than that

Yummy food and you are going to have to work for the booze. Incase anyone wants a yummy drink for a group of people that will work for it, get a big glass jar (6Ltr ish), thinly slice (very thinly) 7 lemons, add to the jar, add 2 cups of sugar, 26 oz vodka and almost fill it to the top with ice. Shake and shake til you cant shake no more. Then divide it up between however many people shook for you. It is yummy. It is like a lemondrop martini that is a hell of a lot more fun to make.

Poor Flipper, would it help if I said I have never been to, and probably never will be to such a party, and I do not own nor want a penis pen?!

Damn, did I miss the penis pen party?
Hey, a good Thursday afternoon for me - the little boy I work with, looking through one of his favorite books while I was writing in his communication log (home and school notebook) finished looking very appropriately through the book (no stimming and flipping the pages around), closed it, made eye contact with me, held it out, and said, "Robin read it now?"
This may not sound like much, but it's huge for this guy - more and more he seems to be asking for things or telling the people around him what is going on with him with words instead of just getting frustrated and overwhelmed. "All done," " Bathroom?" "No thank you" - stuff like that - which, if you haven't been able to pull things together enough to tell people that, is really big.
Nice, nice kid, and doing so much better in this situation than at the other elementary school...now if his morning aide were not quite so dense... (the teacher herself is great, but the aide is not very good at thinking outside the box.)

bin that is great, sounds like he is thriving in that environment. I am sure you are a big help with that too. It takes special people to deal well with kids in that situation, and it appears you are made for it. Here's to further strides!

Well, I seem to have acquired a great deal of experience in these situations over the last six years or so...quite against my will, I might add...but I guess perhaps it's a sort of backhanded blessing. I know all sorts of things about typical and atypical child development that I never wanted to know, lol. But it is fantastic to feel like I am doing some good.

That's really cool, Bin. I know the woman that was my grandmother's caretaker has an autistic son and I remember how cool it was when he finally started to actually attempt to have real conversations with people. Keep up the good work, I'm sure his parents are thrilled!

Binski, as a parent, I hope you can appreciate what you are doing for this little guy. A very memorable moment for their family!! Yay!!
By the way, there were no penis pens at the party. There were about 10 of us and I have not giggled so much and had "girl" fun in a while. They aren't for everyone but we all had one heck of a good time. They sure ate alot too.....perhaps that is why we all get along so well.

Wow, what a very interesting mix of subjects in the same thread! And it is just hilarious. I don't know what's going on over there in Calgary, but I think these Canadian women here are a LOT less innocent than we all think!
Binsski - I LOVE the avatar! LOL. All the time it was happening, I was just thinking, WTF? Thanks for capturing the moment!
On a sincere note - Binsski, your heart is 10x the average size! I am so sure it is your compassion, attention, and patience that is helping this boy out! I know that the school has felt the effect of your presence! I too, am holding back tears. For me to know that my child is in great hands/care while at school is priceless to me. ;D

Thanks a lot, guys. I was just so excited I had to share!
iled, as a parent, I absolutely do appreciate what I am able to help this guy do...my 6 year old, Linnea, has autism spectrum disorder (PDD-NOS, which is the flavor of autism you want if you have to have one) and has made huge strides over the past three years or so, so I am really keyed into all those tiny developmental things that it's easy to take for granted.
(You wild Canadian girl-party-throwing person, you.)
Glad you like the pic, Told. ;D
