That is probably my most favorite meal! Sometimes we just make yorkshire pudding and gravy for dinner if we don't feel like having meat.

I have only ever had yorkshire pudding when we would visit my aunt and uncle in Toronto when I was a kid. You just don't see it in the states very often.

I don't even know what it is....
We've never been "traditional" when it comes to any holiday foods. This year we are doing meatballs, potato salad, Mexican dip... um... crab puffs.... don't remember what else...

the Aussie xmas dinner is either a ham, turkey, chicken, or rolled beef with salad and seafood...with a ice cream plum pudding and brandy custard

iled will be able to describe yorkshire pudding better than me...but it is yummy. Usually eaten with prime rib...at least from what I remember.
nonick that is untraditional...but traditional for you...that is what traditional is all about.
dragon, the aussie Christmas dinner sounds nice too. Do you know what you are having this year?

don't get me wrong here, we have the turkey etc with my mom and same (usually with Troys mom too). Yorkshire pudding (aka popovers) are not pudding at all. It is eggs, milk, water, flour and salt mixed up and poured into greased muffin cups (or popover pans) and baked at a high temp. They puff up and get nice and airy inside (if you make them right!) and fill nicely with gravy. You could say they are a cross between an unfilled cream puff (but higher) and a nice flaky dinner roll. They don't travel well or I would bring you some. They go great with prime rib like BNLater said or any roast for that matter, or like I said before just them and gravy!

Oh man... I haven't had Yorkshire pudding in YEARS, and I can still taste it. Love that stuff. Maybe I can convince my husband to make it for me some time - put that culinary degree to work in my own home! We usually have turkey or some kind of beef, since my mom doesn't love ham. But for Christmas eve, we almost always follow the Southwestern tradition and have tamales.

Hey gang - Merry Christmas from Flipper & Pick Magnet. I hope everyone has a safe and memorable holiday season! I'm at Buffalo Wild Wings in Owensboro KY watching football and hoping for a Fantasy Football Championship! We celebrated PM's family Christmas here yesterday and are hanging around for a few more days. Christmas Eve dinner at our usual restaurant then a realllly long Mass around 10:00pm. Tomorrow should be quiet, and then it's back to Lexington to close on our new house on Jan. 5th. Looking forward to seeing a lot of you on the cruise!
