If you could read my mind BNLater, what a tale my thoughts would tell. And stuff.
I love the song about the sinking of the Edmond Fitzgerald. I can't wait to hear your review of the show, I'd see him in concert. I had heard from a couple of people that he just didn't interact well with the audience. Kind of went up, sang his songs and got off the stage. But that was years ago.
Have a great time!
Oh I'm half way through this long Thursday. I want ti to be Saturday already!

Jessica he was more interactive when we saw him in 2006.....but it was a small venue and he just talked to the audience. Friday night is in our favorite venue.....1,200 seat theatre type setting in a local casino...............we see a lot of stuff there..............I have even written to Fin and suggested it for BNL...................let me tell you that would ROCK!!!!

I am currently doing a report a current event in technology... Yay for the new tech teacher! Anyhoo, I have my laptop on my desk and I am watching Rent on my Mac. Even thought I've seen the movie over 50 times, it doesn't get old! Even when I'm doing homework!

I want to see Rent. You know what's good? Fried perogies. I use my Grandmother's perogie recipe. I boil the perogies up, then I make a sauce for them using boiled whipping cream and fresh dill. Sometimes I'll add chopped sweet onion. But they rock the next day when you throw a gob of butter in the frying pan, dump your left over perogies, sauce and all, into it and fry them until they are golden brown. Hot damn they are good. Just thought I'dshare as I just finished a plate of them for dinner. I better work extra hard in my dance class tonight now

I love RENT. It's one of my favorite things, aside from BNL. Only on the cruise did my BNL performance attendance count surpass my RENT count. I've seen the live show 10 times and the movie, well... I don't even know how many times. I'm still trying to decide if I'll go see it when it's in town in two weeks. I probably should, but I'm in such a BNL mode right now that I haven't thought much of RENT in a few months.
How much of a RENT spaz was I before the cruise was announced? Let's just say I spent my 2005 bonus buying one of the pairs of jeans that Adam Pascal (Roger) wore in the movie...

I'm generally like that with musical theater. I've seen my favourites, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, and Joseph and the Aazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, oodles of times. I'll have to see rent. I'd prefer to see the stage version before the movie however. I thought the Phantom of the Opera movie blew chuncks quite frankly.

To me it is almost impossible to translate a good piece of musical theatre to film....but Chicago was the closest to date. We are seeing Rent in May for the first time.........I need to know what the hubbub is about. We are also seeing Avenue Q, which I have mixed feelings about after seeing bits and pieces on the awards shows. But I love musical theatre so hopefully I will not be disappointed.

I love it too BNLater. I haven't been in a while. Laura and I took in a local production of Cats last year. You know, I haven't seen either the film version or the stage production of Chicago. It's on my to do list however. That's what I miss about living in Toronto, we got got arts stuff and music stuff than Vancouver does. There was always something going on in TO. In Vancouver, the odd theater thing comes along, stays a few days then moves on. Alot of travelling productions. So I miss out on alot.

Jessica there is usually tons of musical theatre out there, it is a matter of finding it. Yes most will be travelling productions, which can be super, and local stuff which I love. I mean we have LA not that far away, but I shy aways from there big time. But we have season tickets to a lovely theatre in San Diego, and season tickets to a local casino that has a 4-5 shows season that has been great. We also do shows at a couple other venues quite regularly. Bob has grown to love musical theatre too. If you get a chance to see Chicago on the stage do so, you will love it. The music is great, the staging is usually wonderful.....and a fun story too. We saw it last year in the season for one theatre and it is coming up later this year with the other one.

That's awesome, yay! My best friend saw Rent live on Broadway when she went to NYC... I was/am very jealous! I hope to see it someday, I'd be happy just to visit New York!
And out of curiousity... What did you do with those jeans?
