I think it's all because I finally, after debating whether or not to for a year, bought one of their albums. Yes. All because of me. It's the only explanation. No other possible reason.

[glow=red,2,300]As much as I do think Ray Charles was a genius, the best Album of 2004 (at least of those nominated) was American Idiot. Far better than the sentimental favorite of Ray, or Ray and Norah (G-D, I am so sick of Norah Jones....her father is great, but we call her "Snorah" is our house).
Of course I am quite disappointed that Chronicles of Life and Death - Good Charlotte, wasn't even nominated...easily the second best record of 2004...and still better than Snorah and Ray.[/glow]

Im just wondering if the Australian MTV awards will be viewed in the USA as the hosts is none other than Ozzy and Sharon Osborne also Green Day has a couple of nominations.... Benjy, you summed it up very well with "Snorah Jones" I absolutely hate her music nothing about it that makes me feel like Im listening to some excellent and yet underrated music...like some bands we know

I love Green Day. When I bought American Idiot, I was so surprised at the lyrics and the music.
I like Norah Jones, but she stuff gets old fast. She good to listen to sometimes, but I think she's underrated.
I don't like award shows all that much (which is why I listened to it on the radio unntil Green Day came on) but I am glad to see something like American Idiot get the attention it deserves.

I did get to see GREEN DAY live this year with my sons. BNL nothwithstanding, they put on one of the best live shows I've seen in a long time. And...Billy Joe Armstrong is a VASTLY underrated guitarist (kinda like our Eddie). I guess punk doesn't get the cred it should because people are still remembering the Sex Pistols, and their "anti-muscianship".

I totally agree with Benjy: It's a must have. Benjy- I wish my dad were as opened minded as you. I love him tons, but my God is he such the Conservative-Republican...

Oh, my dad and I are too much alike. The one area we differ: he's conservative and I'm liberal. Political discussions are great. They go on for hours and by the end, I throw up my hands and call it quits so I can watch t.v. He loves Teddy Roosevelt, but don't get him started on FDR...

Some of you might think Norah is over-rated, but after sitting 2nd row center for her show here in Lex, I think she's JUST HOT
