Since that thread was already over 10 pages, and because I am hoping that the sad is subsiding.............here is a new thread.
Aims I bet your dad would love it. If he is true to tradition, they will tour summer 2010............I will try to remind nonick when I see them touring again.

I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't reply on the previous thread. Then realized it was 12 pages long and probably locked. Yeah, lack of sleep. That's my story.
I hope Ringo gets to Canada then, I'd love to see his show!

Well don't know about everyone else but my sad is subsiding! Yay for moving forward!
Woohoo that would be sweet to see Ringo. I really gotta figure out a way to sneak around the world more often lol. Crossing my fingers that I can get into a school in a couple of years that will get me to a more musically inclined locale lol.
And I do have some ELO to dig up...where is it now. Damn brain fog hahahaha.

Me? Nope, not sad anymore and looking back I wasn't really all that sad after all, especially when I see how it affected others. After watching the Orlando videos the band has assured me that they are relieved, enthusiastic, and excited about their future. That's my take on it, probably because that is exactly how I feel. I kind of liken it to other things that happen in life like when I got pickpocketed in Mexico I thought the world had ended and then once you step back and realize that we are all still alive and a kid wasn't abducted, you realize it is all going to be okay.

You were pick-pocketed in Mexico? That had to really suck. It wasn't when we were there for the cruise, was it?
I was pretty sad about it, but that only lasted about a week. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the Fearsome Foursome in the near-ish future. Mostly though, I can't wait for some new music! I know that quoting song lyrics can be rather trite, but this has been my favorite song for many months now because of the great message it has, and I think it applies to the whole BNL situation, too:
Way hey hey, it's just an Ordinary Day, And it's all your state of mind, At the end of the day, You've just got to say it's all right....

ok now I realize why I couldnt post on the old thread... I LOVE Tom Petty...never cared one way or the other for Dylan and liked the couple of popular Orbison songs. It's just Steve's voice is soooo strong and how should I say this...on key...Kev's voice...is so soft, and in my opinion weak, as in not forceful, and to me kinda off key. Its completley not fair to compare him to Steven, but until i've heard a new album, new songs and new concerts so I can experience the band without constantly thinking God Steven did that so much better. And i've seen snippets of the recent Florida concert. While im sure the break-up was not an overnight thing, they've been doing their shows for 20 years, to take out such an integral part, and on the first try hope its anywhere close to being like the concerts i've seen in the past is asking way to much. My denial stage is pretty much over, still kinda angry. Haven't hit acceptance yet. Ill always have in the back of my mind that the whole is better than the parts and hope Steven comes back sooner than later. Until then I'll keep my hopes up that the new material will be great (and hopefully not to much Kevin singing (lol)) and until then I have an Ipod full of great BNL memories

Totally missed my point dude! I said for me it's not about the voice, but the song, the lyrics, the instruments, the meaning, the emotion! There's so much more to music than a voice! Heck, Celine Dion can sing her ass off and has an amazing, strong, full range voice. But she can't play instrument, write a song, and if I hear anymore sappy ballads, well, I'll kick her luggages' ass from here to Quebec! I hope there's tons of Kevin songs and singing on the new album, na na na na poo poo head! LOL! I'm just teasing you, I hope you know that. Plus I got my period and am a little cranky

Go Jess! Haha I feel the same way...and probably cranky for the same reason haha. Any guys out there? I'm sure you need to know that lol! I am still in agreeance that the music is more than just a voice. Listen to the voices sure But it's beyond that for me. It's different for everyone thogh. Not everyone will like my ideas like I'm sure I won't like everyone's as well. Although I must say that Jess and I are WAAAY too much on the same wavelength!!! I will say one thing directly to rareair....thank you for giving them another chance. But I must also say that I also hope I hear a ton of Kevin songs and singing too on the next album! But, you know, look at my picture, and my nick, and everything. I'm sure everyone can deduce that. Go BNL's version of the Fantastic Four!
