Very sorry to have to relay that Sallie's dad passed away last night after a battle with cancer. I'm sure I speak for everyone that roams these halls (even infrequently) in relaying how sorry I was to hear the news. I don't know many details, other than that Sallie was able to make it to where he was, and spend most of the day with him. Tonya and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers and hope that you find comfort in the fact your friends are grieving along with you.

Yes thanks for letting us know flipper...
I'm so happy she was able to be there with him at least. I can't imagine, it's so tough. My thoughts (what's left of them) are definitely with you and your family Sallie. Take care.

Thank you for your thoughts. I did get to spend most of the day of his passing with him. He was communicative, and I believe was waiting for me before he would allow himself to go. I will miss him a lot as he was a wonderful, caring and loving man, but he is so much better where is he now than he was here at the end. I am so thankful that he went so quickly rather than the time frame the doctor gave him. I am sure is is up there either flying a plane or riding Pokey and keeping an eye on us all.
nonick, it was probably better that I did not have your cane...........or I might have used it!

I’m glad you were able to spend some time with him. No matter how tough it is, that little bit of extra time is in some ways a blessing. Definitely thinking about you and I hope you are doing well. You know we’re all here for you and support you, or help out wherever we can. Take it easy.
And I hope it's good remembering about us....that could make for a very long day at work remembering bad people hahaha.

kevfan no bad people here!!!
Yes I was very glad I decided to go over early, and even better that my morning hearing got continued. I had 9 good hours with him in addition to all of the other time we have had. I grew very close to my dad when I was in 6th-8th grades because we shared a love of horses and spent countless hours doing horsey things..............he made cleaning tack a fun job. I also worked with him for many years in his shop after he retired from the Air Force. He was a special man that touched many people's lives in a positive way. He was my hero!!!! I will miss him, but he is with me all the time.
