Alrighty....
Book is out....
Any of you read it? thoughts?
I can't wait to hear!! Time for me to re-read it!!
I loved it. I did. I thought it was a wonderfully horrific written bloodbath. The last chapter was very non-specific and leaves much room for a new series about different characters! I enjoyed the vague ending (or is it a begining?), because it allowed me to fill in the rest with my imagination....I don't need things spelled out for me.....life is best lived not spelled out.
It was filled with plenty of "I thought so's" and "Oh, so that's whys". Most questions are answered.....
other people's thoughts?

I loved it. I was so happy to get so many questions answered and even happier with the ending. I was so nice to be in such a good mood at the end of it all. But let me tell you, I was pretty worried about it for a while there...

I loved it as well. I'd read all the spoilers (including the entire epilogue) online beforehand, so I already knew how it turned out, but...great book. <3
I can't believe how many people in the fandom are saying they hate it! And that the ending reads like fanfiction. Eh?

Why would anyone read the spoilers??? I avoided pretty much everything that had to do with the book before it was released because I didn't want any chance of getting any info on the story before I could read the whole thing myself. Granted, I was wishing at some points that I could read faster so I could find out what happened next but I still wouldn't skip ahead.
And I agree with you, mob, this book was one wild roller coaster. More ups and downs than any of the other books. But even for as much as I enjoyed it, it is the first one that I've finished and haven't wanted to pick it back up again and re-read it right away. I know I'll do a re-read at some point, but I'm going to give this one some more time than the others.

Well, for one thing, I didn't really expect any of them to be real. Someone on LJ analyzed the scanned epilogue in Photoshop and proclaimed it fake -- I mean, they even checked the alignment of the lines and stuff, so I kind of went with that... Surprise, it's real! Also, there is a certain person on my LJ friends list who hates HP, so he posted the spoilers in the largest print possible (the list of who dies, etc.). Little hard to miss...
Still, I'm not concerned about being "spoiled." I enjoy reading a book; it's not about getting to the surprise ending. Plus I was bored, the book didn't come out for another week, but...there was the epilogue! I couldn't resist...

Exactly!! We went and saw the movie last night, kids loved it but I must admit I have tons of questions. Perhaps the books would help. I bought the first 3 to take on holidays so I will work my way through those.
2 questions, what is the significance of the runners hanging from the rafters near the end of the movie and what is the link/relationship between Harry and Dumbledorf (fine, laugh at my spelling!!)? Or is there one? We are debating that in our household.
Nicely surprised at how much I enjoyed it after seeing only the first movie. The kids really enjoyed it.

Did you notice the dedication in the last book was in the shape of a lightening bolt?
Cute! ;D ;D
Iled, I could try to explain the answerd to your questions, but honestly youwould not understand it as well or feel the magnitude of the link of Harry and Dumbeldore until the books are read. It's easy reading....and they have the book on cd's too...makes for great traveling!!

I finished it yesterday, and I was left emotionally exhausted. I grew up with this series- it WAS my childhood. I am sorry to see it end. I feel like I have both completed something inside me and lost it. It is very strange to see the blank pages at the end and know there will be no more...
