Nothing big planned for me this weekend. Supposed to be rather dreary here, which I guess makes it perfect for staying in and doing my taxes. Whoopie!

Congrats Devin <<tosses blue and orange confetti
nonick you taxes should take a total of half hour to do...please!
We are working in the garage and inside tomorrow.............then Sunday the baseball season ticket draft, then stopping to see my brother's new place (ok he has been there a year and I have not seen it), then the folks are following up to see our new house (or the model of it), then dinner and they are staying the night and leaving Monday. Now isnt that exciting?

Sounds pretty busy if not exciting. And usually my taxes take about 2 hours and the only reason I can't file EZ any more is my student loan. *sigh*

two hours to put in a deduction for interest paid?
<<gets on soap box
It sucks that you all get to deduct your student loan interest....I did not get to! I used to tell the loan officers they needed to make it tax deductible so dishonest people would pay them back...........but did they? Not for the 7 years I was paying my loans off!

Wow, I didn't know that... I just sort of assumed that was how it always was since it is a loan...

When I first graduated you could deduct consumer interest..............on like credit cards and such but that was removed as a deduction soon thereafter, and did not include student loans either.

I claimed my student loan interest on my taxes once. Then I consolidated everything and that was the end of the tax deduction for me. But I did get a lower interest rate on the loan, so, 6 of one and half a dozen of the other I guess. Still paying the damn things off. Think I will be doing that wine tomorrow night after all!

I am sooo glad it is Friday. I am going to spend the afternoon at my daughter's house decorating for a baby shower she is having tomorrow for her best friend. The friend is due in a month? and having a girl. Ever notice how these things go in bunches like that?
I think I will turn my phone off until Monday. Sounds good, eh?
Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks guys. I would have never thought I'd make it this far...
I'm just getting ready to pack my bags to leave tommarrow morning... For once, I would enjoy staying home. But, I already told my friend I would come. You do what you gotta do, I guess.
Next week I am gonna shoot a short documentary on local myths and legends, it should be fun.
