No not just stuff you think might make you sick. I would venture to say if anyone told thought there might be anise in it you would not try it! That is just one thing that comes to mind.

we (Canadians) call the first one Bacon and the 2nd one back bacon or if it is wrapped in cornmeal like the above picture then it is called peameal bacon..........which I learned on a trip down east is better in the east than it is in the west.
The fact that you found those pictures cracks me up.
