Hey guys!! I think I actually have found a job offer I like. I need to do a little self reflection and make sure I'm not just getting in over my head, or going into a bad buisness scenerio... So send me some good vibes so I can think clearly and make a sound decsion for my future! I may actually be employed!! Just when I about gave up. I didn't even look into this one, they found me. It does involve a move, but only a half hour away or so.....We'll see... I'll keep you posted! ;D Thanks for listening!!

*sends good vibes to mob* like we say in Quebec, "merde!" (it's a jinx to wish g*** l*** to someone )

Job decisions are always tough. What would you be doing? Try to focus on what is really important to you. Ask yourself if this job fits into that idea. Is it a good opportunity? Can you talk to other people that work there and ask some specific questions about the working environment? Is it something that will open doors for you later? Is it the type of job that if you don't like you have the ability to look for something else while you stay there? Try the "list" idea - make a list of things that would be good about taking the job, and make a list of things that would be bad. Be honest with yourself about it though. Ultimately, your first instinct is probably the way to go. But ask yourself some hard questions to make sure.

mob good luck with the analysis. Flipper's approach seems to make a great deal of sense. I have been at the same job for 20 years, although I have had other offers during that time, I am at home and have stayed put. I suppose I have used a similar weighing process in deciding to stay where I am, and it has done well by me. I also agree that often the first gut instinct is what to listen to.

mas, it does mean sh*t... it's just that in Quebec, swearing usually limits itself to religious items, so "merde" isn't bad compared to others
Edit: I was thinking about this while I was having lunch... think of Quebecers saying "merde" as someone saying "break a leg"... same difference!

I think I'm too fast for you guys. I just had your whole "merde" conversation in my head with myself..the whole "Doesn't it mean sh*t?" (you guys are starring it, I have to) "Maybe it's like contradictory and sort of like break a leg..."
I swear.
GOOD LUCK MOBBBBBBBB!

Dragon good thoughts coming your way for your testing. I am not sure I can send much knowledge your way, since I have no training in search and rescue, but the general good thoughts are coming your way.

Alright... So far so good. I really liked what they had to offer. I had some 'minor' chnages I would like to make to the contract upfront before I even review it with my lawyer. Thanks for everyone's positive thinking. I was really smitten with the offer and was afraid when I looked further into it, there would be something I didn't want... but nope. It's a solid position!! Now, it's not official until the contract is in my hands and signed!! I'll keep you updated. Go Dragon Go!! Good luck with your test!
