soft and jane and with good reason too. Being the mother of a teenager, I can appreciate your parents' concerns, and appreciate just how frightening it can be to raise a teenager in this day and age, so don't just dismiss them as crazy or irrational or stupid. This is when being open and honest and the true art of communication becomes truly advantageous.

im not saying they are wrong, but i do trust most of the people on this board not to be online predators and all. im cautious, but not overly so. not a good thing i guess, but this is the only online place i can say that of. i would never tell some strange person i met in a chat room that id want to meet them, but i dont go in chat rooms, and i dont consider the people on this board to be strangers.

Well jane I am stranger than most!! LOL Sorry I had to use my old line. I know what you mean, and while I will not argue with those thoughts, I just know there are lots of nuts out there. I have met some truly awesome people off the internet..including my hubby....but I am cautious as well.

I think all parents worry at least a bit when it comes to internet security... my mom almost freaked out when she learned that I had given my address to a young woman in Australia because she wanted to send me a copy of Stunt LE (given, she learned about it when the package arrived, but I had apprehended her reaction). My dad didn't react as bad when I sent DH her MYSD, but he didn't want me to give my full name, and made sure many times that I knew who I was talking to.
*sigh* parental instincts I guess! As a better example, they weren't too sure if they'd allow me to go to Vancouver for that concert even if I had the money, cause I was meeting people... but meh, I'd have them convinced anyway...

Ludwig, no there are tons of parents out there that pay no attention at all. Those are the ones that end up running off with sex offenders etc. I am very cautious...and fully understand other parents that do. I have sent tons of music around the country...and understand fully if parents of younger people want to be careful of handing out addresses. Just remember, if they didn't love you and care about you it would not be an issue.

I am cautious esp when it comes to my son or daughter giving out phone numbers to toal strangers they meet online....I tell not tto give it out under any circumstance, due to our safety being threatened...
On the other hand I have given my address to a few of you here, for one reason or another and vice versa.. mainly due to BNL merch
