This is unreal. A week of no rain, and the grass already wants to go dormant. Beautiful weather is just not good for grass. You have all I'm sure heard that Kentucky is the bluegrass state. Well that's because we have a strain of grass known as "bluegrass" - when it is early spring, it is so green it almost has a blueish tint to it. Unfortunately, it also dies very quickly when the weather gets hot. So, you have to try to blend your grass with a heartier fesque. My lawn has some of each, so the parts with the bluegrass have already started to turn brown after being flat out gorgeous 10 days ago. Anyway, enough about grass.

Flipper, my ex husband loved Kentuky Blue grass. We could buy the seed in Nova Scotia and when we had to redo our lawn, he insisted on it. He was totally anal about it really. It was Blue grass or nothing. It was such a big deal...now i won't have that grass. Just plain old, regular green grass is good enough for me.

I would think it would be hard to grow in Nova Scotia mas. Now what kind of good old green grass? Ulta tall fescue? Some other variety? LOL When I thought about putting grass in it was mind boggling...no this is better with dogs! No this variety is better with drought type climate! Screw it...I went with desert mountain landscaping...just clumps of pampus grass...lots of rock.

We had no problem growing the Kentucky Blue in NS. However I was secretly hoping it wouldn't grow so I could say "see, I told you we should have got the cheaper kind!" LOL! I just use every day, green grass that wal-mart sells. It works!

Ahh ok mas. I do not have any regular kind of need to mow grass anywhere. Boy is it pleasant.
