Well neither actually.
He is apparently competing in the event in some capacity. The guy that Carson knows is the UK Cheerleading advisor, and my brother-in-law cheered at UK back in the early 90's and is still good friends with the advisor. Saturday is bro-in-law's birthday, and it just so happens that Carson is in town at the same time, so it's sort of a combination birthday dinner/horse show event.
And that's a really long winded version of why I'm having dinner with Carson.

Ahhhhhh so you are just going to for dinner, not because it is a horse show event!! Got it!! Well have fun. I don't watch the show regularly, is Carson the interior design guy? Perhaps some tips for the new house?

Maybe that's part of why he's my least favorite, because he does the fashion. I like Kyan (??) the "grooming" guy, too. Wait no, not Thom, but Ted is my favorite, the food guy. He's got such a dry sense of humor, and of course, I love food!

Well that was different. My wife and her brother went to the Gin Blossoms show at a little venue downtown. I got a phone call on my cell about 20 minutes, turns out it was the main guy singing "Jealousy" to me - another girl with them dialed me up and handed him the phone. It was very distorted - I actually thought my brother-in-law was singing to me until my wife called back a few minutes later and said, no, it was the Gin Blossoms guy.
I saw BNL do that once in Cincy - pretty funny stuff....
