You guys are awesome.... The doorbell rang at 10:00 this morning, it was the Fedex guy with your "delivery". VERY COOL of you to send the Get Well Bear. My wife was very impressed, and immediately went and fixed me oatmeal, cut up a banana, and served my breakfast with the paper. My parents brought by a reclining zero gravity chair yesterday that I was sitting in this morning after I woke up. That's where I chilled this morning. I've had an extremely difficult week, and am grateful to have people like you guys keeping my spirits bright. I had my first shower this morning in 8 days, and actually got to shave my entire face. It felt great. Eating and drinking are tough because of the pressure they create when swallowing, but I'm gutting it out as that's the only way to get my strength back. I (hopefully) get the sponges out of my nose first thing Monday morning. If nothing starts bleeding, I can switch fully to recovery mode. If the surgery was successful, it will help my nasal breathing tremendously according to the surgeon. I'm on the couch today, watching the NFL Draft, catching some movies, drinking, and trying to rest and relax with the occasional activity to regain my endurance. BNLater- we watched the Vancouver tsunami DVD last night - my face hurt from smiling. It was very entertaining! Nothing like a little BNL to brighten the day.... Cheers to the board, and especially our resident GODESSES...

Flipper it is awesome to hear that you are feeling a bit better. I am glad that the bear brought good feelings with him, that is what was intended. Continue to take it easy, enjoy the new BNL goodies you got, and allow your body to heal. Sounds like your wife deserves a day at the spa and an evening of dinner and show when you are up to it. <<waves at Mrs. Flipper

I'm glad you liked the little bear, Flipster!! I thought he was adorable in the picture online. And I'm also glad that you finally seem to be getting better. Here's hoping that it works well getting the last of the packing taken out. *crosses fingers* I tend to agree with your wife that she does deserve A LOT of pampering after this. After being in her shoes 3 months ago when my sister was in the hospital after somewhat major emergency surgery and then my dad going in the hospital three days later after a heart attack, I know how stressful that situation is. While the patients are the ones that are going through the "bad stuff" the family members that are there with you are not only going through everything with you, but they're also trying to keep up the house and keep the rest of the family informed of what's going on, all while trying to stay healthy and sane themselves. Sometimes that can be a lot more difficult than just being the patient...

Yeah, she decided that it works a lot better when she is the patient, and I have to take care of her. It more mirrors our normal day to day lives. I do the lion's share of the housework and coordinating of events and errands and such. She has a much more stressful job at this point than I do (reversed from about a year ago) and has a tough time managing her time outside of work since there is so little of it. Hopefully things will go well in the morning, and I can resume at least being able to drive and get stuff done around here so she can catch up after missing virtually an entire week of work. My office is only about a mile from my house, so it will be easy for me to gradually get back into the flow of work. Plus my boss and I aren't insanely busy, we have a good system set up and it handles all the work pretty seamlessly. Had this happened a year ago at our old company, I'd have been screwed missing a week of work unplanned for.
