You live in northern friggin Ohio, and you're looking forward to cold weather. Just crazy.

I happen to live in "northern friggin' Ohio" because I ENJOY cold weather. And why is it that it's "crazy" for someone to have an opinion other than the one you have?

Because it would seem you'd get enough of it as it is. And isn't that the very definition of crazy? When someone else has an opinion different than your own?
No offense by the way. I don't really think you're crazy.
*cough*

cra·zy adj. cra·zi·er, cra·zi·est
1. Affected with madness; insane. 2. Informal. Departing from proportion or moderation, especially: a. Possessed by enthusiasm or excitement: The crowd at the game went crazy. b. Immoderately fond; infatuated: was crazy about boys. c. Intensely involved or preoccupied: is crazy about cars and racing. d. Foolish or impractical; senseless: a crazy scheme for making quick money. And I ask you this, if you really enjoy something, why would you not wish to have more of it? Do you not wish for the warm weather to last longer because that is something that you like?

Apparently I've struck a nerve. How about this - the notion of WANTING cold weather seems crazy to me. Not that you, individually, are crazy. And I wonder if you lived somewhere it was cold ALL the time....would you still enjoy it as much? I love warm weather, but I don't think I would appreciate it as much if I lived somewhere that never was cold.

Peachy. And likewise, the notion of wanting warm weather to stick around for longer seems crazy to me. And mostly likely no; if I were in cold weather constantly, it would most likely lose its appeal. However, I personally would like less HEAT in my weather and more moderation. Spring and Fall are fabulous, winter is nice, and summer blows. Again, my opinion only, which, last I checked, I was fully entitled to have.

nonick, I really have to get you over in my hometown one day... it's only over 68F between mid-June and mid-July, and after that it doesn't go below 50F until October... you'd LOVE it here (as I do )

Hey Ludwig, what are the temps like in mid December to mid January?

umm... usually doesn't go below -13F, but the winds make it seem worse than it is... sometimes they lower the temp to -40F and lower (only one or two days a year, don't worry)... schools close at -40F around here, and most of the town is stalled at that time, however, imagine delivering newspapers with -49F wind blowing in your face for two hours (which I actually did)... not pleasant. But, as I said, these types of days only occur once or twice a year, the rest of the winter (beginning of December to end of February) it never goes below -22F. You must also be warned that the snow usually doesn't melt until late April also. Enh, that's what happens in semi-northern towns

Ludwig, as I suspected. I am not a hot heat person...ok I live in the desert for the other 9 months a year....so cool weather is not a problem. BUT I do not think I could live in the snow again on a full time basis...unless perhaps after I retire and do not have to leave the house unless I want to. I lived in Montana for three years, and that bitter cold was way more fun as a kid than bitter cold now.
