Woo and double woo! I've now officially finished college! Had my last exam 2day which was a 3 hour physics paper and it's now over! I'm not sure how I feel about it really but all I can do is hope I get the grades to go to university in Septemeber. Just so nobody thinks I'm ignoring the board I'm going on holiday to the south of France 2mor so will not be around for the next two weeks, instead I'll be playing in the mountains

Congratulation, Hogey!!!!! Isn't it a GREAT feeling?! I'm a little confused though, Hogey. What exactly is "college"? In the States, "college" and "university" are pretty much interchangable. There are slight differences, but no one really pays much attention to that!

Congrats Hogey!
Is college in the UK the same as in Canada, where it acts as an entrance to university?

eek I think college is the equivelant to High School, but here we have:
Nursary Under 5's Infants School 5-7 years (Grade 1-2) Junior School 7-11 years (Grade 3-6) Secondary school 11-16 year olds (Grade 7-11) Then college 16-18 years (Grade 12-13 or Sixth Form) Then uni

Ahh, okay then. Thank you for clearing that up!
Here we have (and this is my area of Ohio only, because there are variations):
Kindergarten - 6th grade "Elementary School" ages 5 - 12 7th and 8th grades "Junior High" ages 12 - 14 9th - 12th grades "High School" ages 14 - 18 Then "College" or "University"

k-6 = Primary Secondary 1-5 = High school (rest is optional) cégep/college = 2 years pre-uni OR 3 years without university then university
applies to Québec only
