I 'spose I could whip up a batch myself. She'll be mad though if we have them around the house long - too tempting for her, and they aren't exactly low cal.
I'll have to ask around here about cocoa mulch. I've never seen it anywhere in this area, but I get my Big Green Egg supplies at a local nursery I can check with them.

Ah, my Big Green Egg. If you like to grill out, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the BGE. It's a ceramic grill/smoker and it's virtually impossible to mess up on this thing. Seafood, poultry, pork, steaks. Everything is DEELISH. www.biggreenegg.comSmall ones go for about $400, medium for $500 and large for about $700. Lifetime warranty. Uses lump charcoal, meaning very little waste.

We have a huge built in type grill on a large island. It causes enough doggies hell when we use it...I bet the smell off the smoker would be really bad. So instead of me buying one you can just mail me some smoked salmon. LOL

*puts a sample of smoked salmon in a envelope* Are you sure about this?
The egg doesn't take up much room at all, and comes on a "nest" which is just a glorified wheel base. You mainly smell the smoke from the wood chips, as opposed to the scent of whatever you're cooking, so this would be more dog friendly. That is unless they like the smell of apple chips, or chips from Jack Daniel's barrels.

Ummm just an envelope huh Flipper? I guess I will pass.
My dane would have that egg flying across the backyard with one swing of her tail. Of course, then I would have to take her to the vet to have the burn treated, only to have her do it again next time. I think we will have to pass on the Egg while we have these three dogs.
Can just anyone order barrel chips from Jack? I bet those would make everything taste delicious. OK so maybe not lemon meringue pie....but a lot of things.

So why aren't you out with buddies celebrating the end of the term?

Two reasons: 1) Not everyone is done; I'm even done early, I was supposed to have another one Monday, but did it yesterday 2) People here are either snobs, or... snobs I haven't really talked to many people in my school (either by shyness or disgust), so apart from the people I knew already from Sept-Iles and some people I see once in a while, there's no one to celebrate with... then again, I'll have plenty of time once I get back home

Glad to hear things went well there Ludwig!
BNLater, yes you can get JD barrell chips. I buy them at the same place I got my BGE. Check on the BGE site for a distributor near you, and they should have a healthy stock of various kinds of chips. You can always put wet chips in foil, make a little pouch and put them in the corner of a regular grill. You will get the same smoky flavor. I recommend apple chips for pork, JD chips for beef, and alder for any kind of fish.
