Senior..in high school..the 12th grade..the last one. Junior..in high school..the 11th grade Sophomore..in high school..the 10th grade Freshman..in high school..the 9th grade
In college...senior is four year and then move backward the same way.

oh now I get it...
We don't have this type of grading in Australia...

In Quebec and Canada either (I think)... in Quebec it's K-6 in elementary school, then in high school we have what we call Secondary 1-5 (your grade 7-11), then cégep (or college) for two years, then university. I believe that there's a year less in uni for us, but I can't guarantee that, cause there's been conflicting info on that subject. Also, we never use sophomore and all that, so it's good to know... now I can make sense of all those teen shows on TV

In Western Australia (but it is elsewhere in Oz)
1- 3 junior primary
4-7 primary
8- 10 junior high
11 - 12 Senior
and then we can go to either technical college or university...

It is confusing here in US..because not all the same
Elementary School..sometimes called Grammar School 1-6 Junior High 7-8 (some districts use middle school with 6-8) High School 9-12
