Oh my stars and garters BNLater. I think for your birthday you should have hired a service to come in and do half of that. Jimney.
Don't clean too much. It never makes sense before a big party. Just do what has to be done and let the rest slide until you are doing the clean up after. This is the "premier" of the new house though so I am sure you want things to be pretty. I hope y'all have a grand time.
I am going grocery shopping for a lot of the stuff today. I bought celery last night. Two for a dollar! Whoot! Can you believe celery is $1.39 here now? For celery? I don't even like celery but you can't make stuffing without it.
Kent and I went to a viewing last night for another professor. He dropped dead of a heart attack and he was "joe physical" before. Snowboarding and running and tennis... then BOOM. Scary stuff.
My weekend is looking pretty dull. Yeah!

Yep surprising and my mom is a bit..............ummmmmmmmmmmmm anal about housekeeping. That gene skipped right over me. I mean I keep my house tidy and clean..........but I do not vacuum and mop the hardwood everyday...........she does!! So yes, the house is on display and for Mrs. Clean!!! surprising are you doing the Turkey Day dinner? Or are you going to others? Sorry to hear about Kent's collegue...........that is always scarey

The first time my mom came to visit me I was living in South Carolina. She flew in from Texas. I was so paranoid before she got there I painted the baseboards and had the house spotless. My mom called it hospital clean. It was base housing and it was very nice, but I had been out on my own for five years and she had never been to see me before. Funny memories.... but wait..... you painted the baseboards too, didn't you! Bwahahahaha
If super cleaning will make things better for you and let you have fun then scrub your fingers to the bone. Just make sure you have fun.
We are visiting and having desserts and drinks at various friends and family but we are doing our own turkey and stuff for the comfort factor. It will just be a small group, but a good one. We have invited some of the people Kent works with. They are fairly new and not from the US so they might enjoy it. We shall see.

That sounds like a perfect holiday surprising. Our Christmas Day is always that way, just Bob and I and Eric and his girlfriend for bits and pieces and the dogs of course. We just lazy about, eat when we feel like it, play with new gifts etc., and just relax!

OK tis Thursday again, and the plans for the weekend are shaping up. Saturday it is up early to breakfast, then to the old house to pick up my little freezer and water. Then home it is where I will bake like a fiend and my husband will begin the light putting on marathon! Sunday more of the that. It is one nice weekend, with no external plans that we have to contend with. What about everyone else, any fun planned for this weekend?

Happy Thursday! I'm off this Saturday. I'm getting my snow tires put on my CRV at 8:30 am Saturday, a little late as we have snow here now. It had been so nice, I just sort of forgot about it! Then after the tires, it's hopefully to Kelowna for the day to Christmas shop. uzzi and my mom may come along. My goal is to get all my shopping done that day.
Otherwise, not much else on the agenda. Sunday there's a memorial service for a member of my church who died of cancer on Tuesday. Nice man, so sad. And I'm off Monday. Hot damn I love 3 day weekends!
Well, time to finish my coffee and gear up for a 9-6 work day with my dance class tonight! I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

What are you going to be baking BNLater? I think you may have inspired me to bake some cookies this weekend as well!

Nothing too terribly exciting here. We are supposed to go to Lorain, Ohio on Sunday though to my aunt's mother's 80th birthday party. It will be nice just to see that side of the family that I haven't seen since my cousin's wedding last June.

Jessica I do tons and tons of holiday cookies, so far I have Toffee Balls, Eggnog Snickerdoodle, Magic Bars, and Chocolate Raspberry Crumble Bars done and in the freezer. I have like 30 more on the list, probably about 20 of them will get baked! I love to bake, and my new kitchen is sooooo nice for baking.

Jessica I have to say that they are wonderful, at least the ones I have made so far. I have tons of new ones I am going to try this year. And I have vowed to make Springerles this year!!! They are my favorites, but take a bit of work. I did find a nice Springerle rolling pin and I will have them this year. Of course, some won't like them...........ahmmmm Nonick, but they are delicious. I might even dig out the pizzelle maker this year!
