Even the thought of that disturbs me.... You see this beautiful, tastey looking cookie sitting there, calling out to you, "Eat me!!" (In the clean G-rated sense of the term...) So you pick it up expecting something sweet and delicious only be rudely greeted by the taste of black licorice. <shudder>

Not in the least nonick, you see a wonderful cookie that is made with love and you bite it and get the most wonderful hint of anise.

I have to go with Nonick on this one. Anise = YUCK.
I have so many recipes that call for fennel. I have thought about replacing them with celeriac or something. I want to like it but it just sounds ewww.
I made cookie dough (kolachy since they sounded so amazing) and the dough is still wrapped in plastic in my fridge. I feel guilty if I make cookies without Madelyn and Vincent is such a handful I haven't been able to bake with her yet.

I love kolachy, but the recipe I have makes like 6 dozen, and I grow bored with the whole thing by the time I get them all rolled etc.
surprising there is no accounting for taste!! LOL
I made two great cookies last night, Oatmeal Scotties and Cranberry Crisps. That make 19.5 dozen done!

Doesn't anyone like thrill rides or Thursdays any more? Or is everyone just too busy with the impending holiday?

Flipper, we are seeing him again on New Years Eve, at our favorite venue which is now only 10 minutes from the house. Last I looked they had good seats still available, you and Pick could take a short trip for the new year!

I don't have that much of a list before Christmas. I could, I just refuse too.
Enjoy your Christmas and I hope all your chores go smoothly. Eat your Wheaties in the morning, you will need the energy!
It sounds like you will have fun with the concert and all. Enjoy!
