mas: My sister is getting married next year, and she is also planning a simple and casual wedding at the local park, with the bbq taking place under one of the huts that dot the area, and it is also a great place for weddings as well...

Congrats Mas!!! That's just so awsome! I think it's really cool that you both want something simple so you can focus on the rest of your lives together.
I officially have a boyfriend now...so perhaps my day will be coming as well. ;D

I got married in a meadow on a mountain on a late November morning. I was hoping for snow...but nope...oh well. We had a buffet afterward served outside and ate in a lodge. It was really nice. Not very big...less than 50 total. It was perfect..well except for my step kids..but that is for another day on another thread entitled Dwits and Fools.

LOL mas yep...and most not too pleasant. Just picture this...a 16 year old girl standing with one hip kicked out, arms folded across her chest, pouting and with her back to everyone during the entire ceremony!!!!

Oh lovely! Hopefully things have improved since then!
My two girls are excited. Mainly because they want to wear a "princess dress". They're 4 and 2. My 4 year old is a girly girl who looks for any reason to dress up. The other wants nothing to do with it and is a jeans and t-shirt gal. It should be interesting!

Someday I will post a picture of that whole scene...it sure makes for nice wedding shots!!! Ummm improved? I supposed not really, his daughter is now 22 and his son 19. The daughter lives in Spokane, WA and is now married so I do not interface much with her at all. I last saw her almost two years ago, and last talked to her on the phone briefly in September. Her father speaks to her when she will grant him an audience, or she needs something. And the son is a lost soul at this point in time, and is heading to Ohio tomorrow in search of the answers to questions such as why am I here, and is life worth it. I do not interface with him much either. I did see him on Christmas Eve this past year. He has some real issues with me, although they are really bizarre to me. Oh well, I have tried and tried and tried, but am shot down at every turn.
The wedding should be fun. Funny how different your two little ones are isn't it? I have three neices...6, 3 and 1...they are all such different kids. I love to spoil them rotten. The littlest one's B Day party is Saturday...that will be a riot!!! I suggest that you let each of their personalities show in what they wear. BTW there are some cool ceremonies that are written out there to include the kids in the wedding directly. We had small dogtag like necklaces made for our kids that matched our wedding rings and did a ceremony with them too.

BeIntel - sounds like the kids need a kick in the rear. I have the opposite problem. They love my fiance to death and don't want to see their biological father. He dissappears for 5 months during the summer month for "me time" and he saw them at the beginning of december and hasn't been round since. Its hard to figure out what the problem could possibly be!?! He's a goon and doesn't understand the whole theory on putting kids first and himself second. Oy! Chris on the other hand is great with them. My parents took the girls for the weekend last weekend so we didn't see them for a couple of days. He leaves for work early in the morning so other than when he snuck in the room before he left to give them a kiss, he went from Thursday night to Sunday without seeing them. So we had to call them on Saturday to make sure they were ok and so he could catch with them. Spanker - charmerofhearts eh? whatever caught his eye, I'm glad you're happy!

Well Chris sounds like is a good daddy. And the sperm donor...well ummm what can I say. My son does not have a good relationship with his father either....my ex's fault but to him it is all me. Oh well.
