Score as many runs as possible.................you get 4 if it goes to the boundary along the ground (a line surrounding the playing area) and 6 if you hit it over the boundary in the air.
They're called runs, as in the real game the two batsmen (have bats :-D ) run between the two sets of stumps (three sticks stood in the ground) You have 10 batsmen to a team.
The fielders try to get the batsmen out, by the bowler bowling the ball and hitting the stumps.....or the batsman hitting the ball and the fielders catching it before it hits the ground.........You get as many runs as possible with your 10 batsmen before they all get out......or as many runs as you can in a set number of overs (an over is 6 balls...each over is bowled by a different bowler)

LOL....I get it is like some funky form of baseball. What is the wicket? I have heard that term before associated with cricket!! So I want to hit the sticks I see? The bowler..that is the person throwing the ball? Or is that rolling the ball?

Nope you most definatly don't want to hit the sticks! you want to hit the ball far far away......
