I hate to pass judgement on this show. I'm sure I'll watch it and all (and probably love it) but doesn't anybody else see the downside to this? Unless it's truly improv, and revolves around the type of stuff they do impromptu at concerts, I just can't imagine the general public getting a different opinion of our boys. There is still such an "integrity" issue with their music in average Joe's mind, I hope this doesn't add fuel to the fire. I'm just worried us die-hards will love it, but the normal public will just blow it off and continue to not take this guys musical talents seriously.

Now Flipper you and I think differently..imagine that huh? To me the downside is that the general public LOVE it and they ALL want to attend concerts!!! OK so a selfish downside, but still a downside. I understand your point, but to me that risk is no harm no foul. I mean that segment of the people do not take them seriously now, so what if the show does not change their minds? I am not sure that there are true fans out there that would stop listening to their music or going to concerts just because they did not like the show. So to me, there is a chance that their fan base will widen...but I doubt it will narrow. So bring it on!!!

But don't you think they could lose a segment of *possible* fans, who just need something more critically acclaimed to really sell them on how great this band is? If this show turns out to be just another corny Fox show, that group of potential fans may just dismiss them altogether. I agree completely they won't 'lose' any die hards, no matter how bad the show may be. I'm worried about those sitting on the fence.

Hmmm I suppose there could be some in the fence sitting category, but I am not sure what would convince them. Perhaps if the show at all captures the essence of their live stuff that would be enough. I mean I was what I would have consider to be a big fan before I saw them live....but after that first concert it is like an addiction..I WANT MORE!!!

another link of interest: www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-32255/Honestly, I don't think BNL has genuine fence sitters. I think it's a love it or hate it thing. Those that give the band the time to listen seem to become full-fledged fans, IMO. And also, call me selfish, but I ultimately see the show as a good thing because I'll get a kick out of it, even if my friends think I'm a nerd for watching it.
