Devin, for being a young whippersnapper you have some real talent there. It is really, really good!

Cool stuff. Keep it up. Don't ever stop. I used to draw lots and then I got busy and now....I can't even draw stick figures!

People say to me all the time "Yeah, I suck at art. I can't even draw a straight line!"
Art is not about drawing straight lines. If it were, it'd probably be really boring.
I'm not great at drawing stick figures either, that doesn't mean anything. Stick figures and "art" are a whole different thing. Stick figures are very defined, and with art you can express yourself in a whole different way. You don't have to follow any set "rules", you can just have fun with it.
Artwork is basically my escape from the modern world. I don't look forward to doing it until I get into it. Then I could do it for hours.
I encourage others to try, I feel that everyone has the potential to be an "artist". Some may not be as good as others, but if you try hard, and have a good knowledge of different materials and mediums anyone can make art.

Cool. I'm not on a lot, not many of my friends are on there. They all seem to be hooked on myspace, which scares me.
I beleive myspace has the power to take over the world. And when they do, I don't want to be a part of it. Hence, I don't have a myspace page.

Devin those are awesome. I love the one ala Warhol of Mike!! The jay is awesome too. I never felt comfortable painting with arylic, it is cool that you seem to move among media so well.
dragon that can be art too. I have a doodle that I do anytime I am concentrating and listening. I perfected it in law school, and still do when on the phone etc. It is not the same doodle, but the same concept all the time. I have had bailiffs tell me that I should sell them to tattoo artists.

I can't actually go look at your artwork while I'm work Devin because the page is blocked... But I'm sure it's fantastic like your drawing of Steve is!! Speaking of doodling... I drew a GOOSE when I was on HOLD with my doctor's office for 15 MINUTES yesterday morning! It was kind of cool, started out as an eye and then turned into a goose! I threw away the post-it note though...

Grats on the 100th post, Devin - and lovely artwork, thanks so much for sharing. I did quite a lot of art all through junior high and high school and then decided to go get a liberal arts education instead of going to art school (why I thought this would be terrifically useful I am now uncertain, but it seemed like a good idea at the time). Anyhow, I have started to try to pick it up again..and woo hoo, I seem to still be able to draw and paint a bit, which is very encouraging. So all you folks out there who are feeling like it was something you could only do back in your giddy youth...get off your collective arse and pick up a pencil again, dammit! It's good fun, and makes something in your brain go AHHHHHH. Or is that just my brain? I love your pencil technique, Devin - really beautiful.

Don't worry, it's my brain too. I'm just getting ready to work on a project that I am doing in my private art lessons. I didn't go to school today, I ended up sleeping until 1:30 and I feel much better now.

Hopefully I'll get my Steven Page drawing I did with the patterns uploaded tonight. It's very cool, I have to admit.
