Hi Guys, The party went beautifully yesterday. Everyone showed that we thought would, a few that we hadn't planned on and we had a great time. The house was full and the plates were full and the people got full. It was lovely. Clean up was quick. We have left overs out the wazoo. Our vegetarian friends didn't come and people ate about half but we still have leftovers. Kent has an aunt that is in town from North Carolina so I got the bright idea to invite the family over on Sunday. We have food already prepared and the house is clean. Easy cheesy, right? Weeelllllll..... what I didn't consider is that "family" is going to be at least 15 adults + kids, so basically another party. We could have done leftovers for seven, but I can't feed that many people left overs. One sister won't eat a vegetable to save her life so she would really be miserable. I am off to Costco to buy more stuff, to make more lasagnas. LOL While I am there I will grab some rolls and a cheesecake. Have you tried the cheesecake from Costco? Yummmmmy. It's a very bad thing. I wish I didn't know how amazing it was. Have a great weekend!

The Costco cheesecake is an amazing thing. Top with a coulis of berries on top. OMG You really don't want to try it. Trust me. You will dream of it and it will haunt you when you least expect it.

people can't miss you unless you're gone.
pretty simple, but it took me long enough to figure out.

well BNLater, since you asked, i have no idea how i am. I am stressing over school, college apps, and the unidentified and indecipherable state of my relationship right now(the term is "break" and it is driving me crazy) I have SATs this saturday, football games, homecoming(which i bought an amazing dress for, but now have no date, so i shall be dancing alone) and eventually i need to go visit UNC Chaple Hill. I am sure there is more to tell, but i really can't think of it right now. My ability to concentrate on ANYTHING has flown out the window over the past week and a half. i love him so much.

jane I wish I had some magic words that would make the pain and anxiety go away, but alas I do not. The limbo relationship is the hardest to deal with.............can't really grieve it and can't really be excited by it. Just remember you are a wonderful young lady with lots to offer the right guy, so do not settle for half of something when you can have it ALL! Go to homecoming and have a marvelous time with your friends. I am sure there will be lots of others without dates and put yourself out there and you will be dancing the night away!
As far as school. Keep plodding away, and keep up on the work and I am sure you will fine. As far as applying for college admission. Give your applications your best and I am sure that something wonderful will work out. It might not be the thing you want the most right now, but things have a way of working themselves out! I hope you get to UNC and have a fun look around the campus. Is there a formal come see us program or are you just going to take a look around by yourself? I went to a college that I had seen once before my first day of classes...and that was to register!
Hang in there jane.........and remember you where to come for support and encouragement!

<hugs> Jane hon.
I just put a quote on the quotes thread that has helped me a lot getting through my entire life falling apart (long slow train wreck of a 17-year marriage, diagnosis of younger daughter with autism, and other lovelinesses) over the past couple of years.
"Barn's burnt down; now I can see the moon."
(apologies to folks who may have read it on the other thread)
All I can say is, ride it out the best you can, because it *will* get better. I swear. Don't let the SATs scare you; just show up and do what you can with what you know. Stay calm about it. Go to homecoming and look fabulous in your dress and dance with wild abandon and just do your best to let go of how you thought things were. Get lots of hugs from friends. Laugh at every single thing you can. We'll be thinking about you here.
