Devin, that is a great way to think of it. I know I had several jobs that I did not love or even like most of the time, but they served a purpose at the time.

I'm still going to deleiver newspapers at least until I get my liscense in August. I have a feeling the newspaper company won't be so happy about that though... Oh well, I can't be delivering newspapers my whole life, I have to move on sometime! Either way, I'll probably end up working at some low-end fast food joint.

My last day at my job from hell was supposed to be tomorrow. It probably still will be. The monster boss is in SLC all day at meetings and I won't leave my office mate alone.
When I opened my paycheck yesterday I found out that my boss had shorted my check by several hundred dollars. Surprise, surprise. Like she has never know to shaft people before.
I called her this morning and told her she needed to get it fixed immediately. I am also going to send a letter to her and all of the big bosses of the company as well as her immediate managers via email and probably followed up with certified copies telling her that if the "oversight" is not corrected immediately I will be taking it to the Labor Board as well as the State Insurance Board, the Better Business Bureau and if those avenues don't work I will take her to small claims court.
And she doesn't know why she has a problem with retaining employees. *psht* Today I am wearing my Texas belt buckle and my combat boots. I am loaded for bear and I don't care who gets taken down. This has gone on long enough, it is time for management to quit ignoring her issues.
Sorry, but I am soooooooo mad. You have no idea.

surprising.....she doesn't sound all that bright either. I mean at least here in California, playing with someone's pay is a big no-no, and can result in the employee getting a nice "bonus" in the form of waiting time penalties. I say go for it and perhaps teach her a lesson she should have learned long ago!!!

I wrote a letter today and I will be posting it certified tomorrow. I know she has neglected to pay employees in the past and they let her get away with it, but there's a new girl in town and that's not going to fly. The good news is that my office mate got paid for her time off under vacation pay for the first time ever and got her first ever raise! My boss will be kissing her butt in a major way because she is the only one she has left. My girlfriend told me I am a Norma Rae. LOL I don't care, as long as it works. My co-worker is thrilled and giving me 100% credit for making bosszilla step up to the plate for the first time ever. She really is a monster, but I don't think she has ever run into anyone like me before. I will take it to the mat over principles.

Well, today was my last day at the office from hades. Bosszilla is supposed to call me tomorrow to discuss my pay. If she does not immediately agree to setting things right I will be sending my certified letter all over the city. I really hope it doesn't come to that, but whatever.
Today when I was leaving I was giving my office mate some instructions on how to not be overwhelmed and stand up for herself and I don't think she will. I have no idea why people KNOW that people are performing illegal acts AGAINST THEM and still not stand up for themselves. Oy It boggles the mind.
We are having lunch next Thursday so it will be interesting to see what transpires.
Thanks BNLater. I cannot stand to see people taken advantage of. It makes me madder that she treats EVERY employee she has EVER had and she still thinks she can get away with it. Gah
K. No more. I am done venting. Thanks for reading.

surprising some people are slow to learn. I have seen it a lot in my profession, but if you learn to treat your employees right, you get so much more from them!!!! Well glad you are out of there, and can move on to a better situation.

Dragon, it's hard to watch our kids grow up. Lessons are important and if he learns to be careful of the how things can go awry quickly that can save him in the future. I hope it goes well.
BNLater, I am going with Miranda to the doctor again today. It is time to start going weekly now. She hopes the doctor examines her and tells her she is starting to dilate and needs to go immediately to the hospital. *laugh* yeah right. The last month is always so fun. She is a cute pregnant girl, I just wish she liked it more. After the doctor I am going to lunch with her and Madelyn and maybe Brandon. I got Madelyn some chopsticks that look like a GIANT clothespin so she can learn to use chopsticks. Being the little ego girl she is she thinks she can eat with chopsticks already. Her answer if the thing is large and you can pick it up? Stab it. LOL She's funny and has more confidence than 10 kids her age. I saw these chopstick things in the gift shop of the art museum in Boise and couldn't resist so we are going out for Chinese today. I will let you know how it goes.
Have a great day everyone. Talk with you soon.

I am trying not to allow my emotions get the better of me...I've had a hard couple of weeks and my boss has hinted that I should take a few days off from work, but if I am working I am kept busy...

surprising, that sounds like fun. I have seen those chopsticks, and they are terrifics for little ones. Me I can't be bothered with chopsticks, I just ask for a fork.

I am a fork girl myself but it was fun watching Madelyn with the chopsticks. She is left handed and everything is so different for her, it's hard to help her because she is opposite of how I do things.
She was workin' 'em yesterday at lunch though. She had the beef and broccoli and when she got up there was no beef left, she has finessed every little piece out with her chopsticks. She did finally give up and eat her rice with a fork. She's a cutie.
Miranda's doctor visit went well. She has some swelling, elevated blood pressure and some protein in her urine so she is up to two visits a week. She is so close to term though the doctor said she could deliver today and Vincent would be fine. I asked if keeping her feet up and drinking more water would help (since that's what they told me 29 years ago) and it turns out that is all bunk. Just an old wives tail. Man, things have changed SOOO much since my kids were kids.
She's okay and the doctor isn't concerned. He told her Vincent weighs 6ish pounds and is ready anytime so she is really hoping it happens sooner than later. We shall see. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for a July 7 birth. I think that would be really cool 07/07/07.
