I used the wrong tail, but it brings such a funny visual image I am leaving it. *grin*

Surprising that would be a cool birthday alright. I am glad things are going well for your daughter and the new little one. I don't think it can hurt to keep the fluids up and the feet as well. I do not place a lot of trust on doctors and their estimates of baby size though. I was told my son was no larger than 7 pounds and he was 9 lb 6 oz!! LOL

binskki it did the same to mine for the 1.5 hours I push....then it was wonderfully painfree as they took him by C section.

Miranda was 9 lbs 1 oz. I was wearing 28x36 jeans when I got prego.
I went totally natural... no drugs AT ALL. She was born in an Air Force hospital and I slept in a ward with 12 other moms. We had to go to the nursery and get our own babies at feeding time and the bathroom was down the hallway with stalls. It was no frills all the way. Miranda was due June 9, she was born July 8. Almost a full month overdue. She came out with a pelt of hair on her back and ears that had so much hair she looked like Mr. Spock and her skin was so dry it was peeling up and cracking, it looked like she was a crocodile. They don't do ANY surgery they don't have to in the military but on Wednesday I was scheduled for a C-Section, they were scared the placenta would start separating from the uterus. She was born the Saturday before that. Whew! I woke up at 10 and thought I was hungry, she was delivered at 8:18PM. That's not too bad considering she was huge.
Fun times. Noodle salad.

surprising my son was born at March AFB. I grew up in the Air Force as well and truly appreciate their approach to medicine. Personally I see why to much unnecessary procedures, tests and surgeries in the outside world. Hell I had a friend that they scheduled her C section so she got the tax deduction! I am sorry it is wrong. BUT my surgery was necessary as Eric was not going to come out the natural way. I pushed for like 45 minutes and could tell you exactly when he got stuck!

Makes a person want to rush right out and try it, eh?

I cannot believe how things have changed so much. My sister in law always calls me to let me know when my other sister in law is going to have her baby... "Kathleen is going in next Tuesday to have the baby if you want to go to the hospital around noon." She has her labor induced. I know people that get C-sections for convenience and as soon as my daughter got to the hospital with Madelyn she was given an epidural. ? She is going to try to go natural this time. I know what you mean about medical things being outrageous. I am really glad they didn't take Miranda by C-section.

My son was 2 weeks overdue so I was induced which failed and had to have a c-section because we were both feeling the stress and when my daughter wouldn't do what she was meant to do and had her through a c-section too she weighed 9lb 4oz, my son was 7lb 5 & 1/2oz

surprising my water broke when my son was almost 3 weeks overdue, and I waited for a day before I let them induce labor. I guess my son was happy where he was. I had all the patosin (that is not even close to right) they could give me before I had one contraction. But I was pushing within 40 minutes after the contractions started, and stuck 30 minutes later! I don't believe in this convenience crap...this is person's development we are talking about!

Exactly! It is unreal the things you see going on now.
I am not surprised he got stuck. A. he was huge. B. if your water broke 24 hrs before I bet there wasn't a lot of moisture to help finesse him out. OUCH!
Miranda had to go to Labor and Delivery yesterday because Vincent was being more still than usual. Her BP is even down. Yeah!

All ok surprising? I know that Eric got very still the Monday before he was delivered (On a Wednesday). I went in for a stress test too, I guess he was just resting before all of the excitement started!

Yeah, thanks for asking. She sent me an email Sunday night telling me he was all rested and up to his usual gymnastics. I think he was just tired. Miranda didn't want a "baby shower" since this is her second baby, but she did want the people she loves to get together and spend some time so we went to her best friend's house and had a bar-b-que. Kent had smoked extra meat when we smoked on Memorial Day so no one had to deal with a grill. It was a nice day, but long and HOT! We had several canopies and things but it was a hot day. You know how the heat can zap your energy. I think the "shower" just kicked his little bum.
