This weekend is our annual pumpkin carving party. It should be a lot of fun. I have only gotten RSVP's for three couples and I have invited about 25 so we shall see. I hate it when people don't respond.
Man. Where are the happy pills this morning. I sound like Oscar. I am leaving until I can put my attitude back in place.

Okay, I just spent money on Amazon and got some incredible deals so I am better now. Nothing like a little shopping to boost the spirits. We have this party every year. It is always a lot of fun. Pumpkin carving, a few costumes, a potato bar and curry pumpkin soup. It just all screams autumn to me. It will be fun. I just hadn't realized it was so close until Miranda was asking me about babysitting the kids Friday night. I got taken unawares. Lazy bugger that I am I am not thrilled about all the cleaning and decorating. It's all good. Can you imagine your life being so good your main complaint in life is having to clean the house for a fun party with your friends? Wow. Ignore me. I would say I am PMS'ing, but I don't do that anymore. Yet another thing to be thankful for.

LOL Surprising I hear that! That party sounds like a lot of fun to me. I am not sure about the curry pumpkin soup, but the potato bar sounds just yummy! Do you do prizes for pumpkins? I can just see the men getting into the contest. I am thinking I would like to do an open house in early December, but am not sure the house or I will be ready by then. Perhaps we will do a Winter party in like end of January! I love to entertain, but it is so much work, and with the two houses etc, our time is pretty spread thin. We went to a small gathering at our new neighbors on Saturday night..........it was a lot of fun. They did pork satay and rice and salad, another neighbor brought lumpas and we brought yummy chocolate oatmeal squares. It was nice to meet some of our new neighbors and get to know them a little bit.

We do about three prizes for pumpkins and then there are prizes for costumes. The costumes are just starting to be more popular. I don't have one for me this year, but Kent's taken care of. The curry soup is really quite delish. It's vegetarian and the potatoes are build your own so it's great for the veggie crowd too. I would think getting to know your neighbors would be great. My neighbors are nice, but we are not a part of the dominant religion. It wasn't an issue until I married Kent and he used to be, but isn't now, so that really twists the nose of some of the churchies. They are polite, but not friendly. No biggie. We have a life style they just aren't comfortable with. (wine, coffee, playing cards and sleeping late on Sunday) I think a winter party would be so nice. There is that long stretch after all the holidays where people are coming off of the party high and a little party could really be fun. Just don't plan it tooo late in January.

surprising their lose is their lose not yours! The neighborhood we just moved from was not much into being social etc. I had two families that I used to chat with when out watering, and took them cookies at Christmas, but the most of the others I either never met, or did not like! The one neighbors in particular seem very nice. They are retired so they are home all day, which is nice when you work and they live directly across the street! OK what am I missing about the end of January?!

Well, I don't know about you, but I have plans with five very talented gentlemen at the end of January. Not to mention all of the extraneous people that are actually probably as important, if not more so, than the hallowed five. (but don't tell the five I said that shhhhhh) Last weekend in January would not be a good time for party planning.

I must say that a potato bar sounds yummy, do you mean bakers with toppings in bowls? ...bacon.....sour cream......cheddar......chili.......even if you didn't mean that it has provoked some yummy thoughts! The soup sounds yummy. What a nice thing to do.
Not a whole lot planned for the weekend, Emily is invited to a party Sat night and we will be playing cards at our friends place, Trevor has a basketball game and a birthday party as well on Sat. Nothing on Sunday as of yet. I would like to make something really good for dinner, we have been having quickie sort of meals as of late. Maybe a roasted chicken....something roasted though.

I slow cook spaghetti sauce tonight.
New receptionist stated at my office today, and boy is she good. Knows out computer program inside out. My right shoulder is aching so bad right now. Has been all day. Got my allergy shot there yesterday so I could get the flu shot in the left arm. Not sure if this triggered something, but I'm considering using a steak knife to cut the arm off at this point. Pooping Advil like candy.
So speaking of candy, who's ready for halloween?

If you are pooping Advil you really need to see someone there Jessica! LOL That is great to get someone in there who doesn't need a whole lot of training.
We are ready for halloween, I am making stew tomorrow and the house is all decorated, candy is in the bowl and the costumes are ready- what is everyone giving out this year?
