Hey, guys - scrambling around here to get things ready for Bridget to come home from camp and for all of us to go to my folks' next week and to visit some friends on the Vineyard in early August! Busy, but all is well.

binskki what do you have to prepare for in her return? Wow sounds like a busy summer in your house. You want to make a trip to southern California say around the first weekend in September? I have tons of fun stuff to do here, like moving boxes, getting the new yard ready for the dogs, unpacking, cleaning the old house etc.

I can only imagine...GAH! I wish I were closer cause I would in fact come by and help; it's much easier to pack and unpack other peoples' stuff as one has absolutely no context for it. Hope you've had lots of folks looking at the house you are trying to sell! Most of the prep for Bridget has been logistics for the weekend: Kent is driving up to see the camp talent show and play with his soon-to-be-stepdaughter Lanna, and then Bridget is staying over with them in a hotel Saturday night after camp is done, with Linnea staying with me...I THINK...and then we are meeting up somehow so I can drive Bridget back down...and Kent wants to spend time with Linnea too, but is not sure what...and Bridget wants me to bring the dog up to camp so everyone can meet her, so I had to clear that with the cabins we are staying in...and next Wednesday the girls and I are all going out to my parents' in Illinois for five days for my grandpa's 90th birthday! It's been a bit sudden pulling it together as Bridget decided that she only wanted to stay for the first session (4 weeks) instead of for first and second sessions (8 weeks) ...and this decision happened last week. It's mostly been just getting my brain around everything, and trying to coordinate logistics with Kent (who, I may say in the most charitable way, loves to do everything half-assed and last minute...but I digress...) He still hasn't let me know when he would like to spend time with Linnea on the weekend, though he has said that he would like to (he hasn't seen her since before Bridget went away a month ago) - so Linnea is asking me what we are going to do when we go up to see Bridget and I am not sure exactly what to tell her. Luckily, she is mellow about that stuff...unlike my non-autism-spetrum-disorder daughter Bridget, who, even at age 12, requires a lot of pre-cueing and flips out if things are different than she expected. We will just work with what we get.

Why isn't Bridget staying for both sessions? Linnea sounds like she will just go with the flow, perhaps Bridget needs to take a lesson from her?

I often wish I could bottle Linnea's sunny temper and feed it to other people. Bridget is just at that age where she has more close friends back home, and is feeling a bit homesick this year...I think because of all that has been going on. She wasn't having a bad time at camp, but I think she just was feeling the summer slipping away, especially as she is wanting to spend some time at her dad's as well.

That is a tweenage girl for you. My daughter is only 11 and I am sure she would be that exact same. At least you got her to go for part of the time. It is understandable that she would want to come home and hang out with her friends and spend time with her family- can't blame her for that!

Amen to both! I don't know if you noticed, BNLater, but on the fair website there's a printable coupon book with tons of "buy one, get one free" type deals on food!

I am indeed. I'm planning on skipping lunch and sneaking out of here at 3:30 so we can at least spend a couple hours at the fair. I thought about leaving at lunch, but I'm already asking for next Monday and Tuesday off, so maybe I shouldn't push it.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Hmmm... So today I had my first cavity filled, and regardless of what everyobdy told me... It was probably the worst pain I ever felt in my life! The numbness is starting to wear off, and its starting to hurt again. Hopefully it'll go away by tommarrow, because it's my birthday and my mom and I are going to C-bus shopping!
But I just thought I'd check up on ya'll while I'm actually online. Once school starts back up I'll have more time to waste and post on here more often!
