We went to a Dog Whisperer, mob. Unfortunately, all she heard coming from my shih tzu's head was that song from the hampster dance/Disney's Robin Hood running on repeat. Sad case really.
She just picked up all the words that meant her favorite things, i.e. leaving the house in any way, and getting special food. Of course, we, as humans, always say these words in a different tone, so part of their excitement is just picked up from us.

Good to know I made you laugh, mob! I like making people laugh, it makes me happy! But if you think hearing the Hampster Dance song coming from the shih tzu's mind is funny... My sister has a standard poodle that when the Dog Whisperer listened to what was on his mind, all she heard was the song that the young buzzard from the Warner Brothers cartoons sings when his mom sends him out to find food, "Oh I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee..."

nonick if he tried my great dane, I fear he would hear wind...like that that sweeps down the plains, where the wailing wheat it sure tastes sweet....I guess you get the gist.

That's funny, BNLater. There isn't much going on in the shih tzu's or the standard poodle's heads either. But the songs that I mentioned go with their respective personalities like a glove. But it doesn't really matter how bright they are anyway, they're just cute and loveable and I wouldn't trade either of them for the world! (And I'm sure you feel the same way about your somewhat learning impaired great dane, too!)
