Maneuverability goes through the same basic steps as parallel parking.
And I failed my test today. :-( I passed the driving part with flying colors... so all I need to do next time is the maneuverability portion of the test. I need to practice, practice, and practice I guess.

You'll get it next time Devin. I failed my first road test too, it was devestating. But, I wasn't ready and the extra practice did me well. Best of luck on the next go, did you book another test time yet?

I scheduled another test for 2 weeks from now. I've got the proper equipment to practice now so hopefully I will be more prepared this time!

"Proper equipment" meaning milk gallons filled with water and sticks sticking out the tops, right?? When I took my maneuverability test it was five cones; four of them basically on the four corners of a parking space and the fifth was a point cone centered a couple feet in front of the space. You had to drive into the parking space, then pull up to either the left or right of the point cone, stop when your back bumper was in line with the point cone (out in front of the orginal parking space), then back up back through the parking space and stop when you were outside of the cones with the nose of your car in line with the first set of cones. It was a BITCH! I got a 95 though, first time out, solely because I lucked out and the examiner had me go to the right. Had she said "left" I'd have been royally screwed. She knocked off the 5 points for supposedly brushing a cone.... I still think the mean old nasty bitch just couldn't stand to give out a 100 because I never touched a cone. Good luck with your practicing Devin! The repetition really does help.

Thats exactly what it's like. But I now have 5 cones and 5 poles.
I actually tried twice and she let me pull up and try again. So I calmed down and thought I was gonna make it... so I had to look back to see where the cone was... and I said "I can't see the cone.." And she said... "You're on top of it."

Bwahahahaha
Sorry, but that was funny.
I failed my first driving test and passed my second with a 98. You just never know.
Practice, practice, practice. I think parallel parking is important and I can park my car in a space with just a couple of inches on each end and have had to several times. It is dang convenient when you are in a place with very little parking. You can live without it though. Even if you fail it you will still have enough points to pass your test. No worries. It will all be fine.
(The two points I lost were for not signaling before I parallel parked. *eye roll*)

Ha, on top of it! Sorry Devin, but that is kind of funny We don't have this maneuverablity test thing you guys do. Sounds interesting. We just go out driving and they have us do various things like parallel park, do a 3 point turn, they watch us to see if we obey signs etc. Kind of sad now when I think about it and the fact I failed my first road test, ah well. I knew I wasn't ready. Good luck Devin, let usknow how it all goes!

I will be sure to practice... I don't want to fail again.
Happy Friday, everyone! I can't wait to go home and take a nap. Then I'm off to the football game!

Have fun at the game Devin. Jessica, I think the manueverability is in place of parallel parking. I agree with surprising that is really important in my opinion. Keep practicing Devin, it is good for the overall driving experience.

Hey, guys, I just got a job!
I will be acting as a one-on-one aide for a kindergartener with developmental disabilites two afternoons/week for the local public school system. Really nice kid; I knew him slightly when he was in the preschool with my younger daughter.
The whole thing kind of fell into my lap; the programs director cold-called me Wednesday, having heard about me through the public school preschool director.
