Amaretto is a little sweet for me and I am an on the rocks girl. The first bar I ever went into though, *coughfifteencough* I had an Amaretto sour. I think today I shall have... ummm.... gosh, I will have to try something later. Nothing sounds good. We are going to a friend's for pulled pork later so it will probably be a beer.

The beer was lovely with the pulled pork, the red wine was great with chocolate and conversation. All in all a very lovely evening. They are really nice people. This was the first time we had been to their house down here. They have another home up in the valley, but it was too much to commute on a daily basis through the canyon five times a day. You know kids and their millions of things they have to be driven to. Lovely time. Now I have to get my day on, and it's not going easily!

Today is fall break for the college so we are all at home today. It's should be a lovely day. Tomorrow it is supposed to storm like crazy.
Did I mention that Kent and his partner took first place the Faculty/Staff golf tournament this year? That means Four out of the last Five years Kent and Richard have been the first place winners!
The year they didn't win, Richard had a four or five bypass heart surgery, so it doesn't really take anything away that they didn't win.
Isn't that incredible?
My husband's such a stud.
I am going to go and watch a movie with Dr. Sexy. Hope everyone is doing well.

Oh my goodness... It's finally Friday! This week started off really slow..
So I just looked online to see what my grades are... And it turns out I'm failing Algebra II. I knew that I probably was, but it really sucks to know that I am. I hate that class. I hate the teacher. I am a right brained person, I don't get math. And it's worse when I have a teacher that can't give me a straightforward answer when I ask a question.
For example: "How do I get the answer for this?" "Remember our terms?" "No." "Wellllll... It starts with an A... And ends with an L..." "Can you just show me how to get the answer??" "I'll come back to you later."
That's basically what you have to go through to get a question answered in this class. And usually it isn't even answered halfway decent. She also has really stupid rules, you can't talk AT ALL or you get sent to the hallway. Then after that you get sent to the office. The sad part is, everybody hates her, and if she was answering our questions, we wouldn't all be failing right now.
ARRGGHH... Okay. I'm done ranting.

Devin take her challenge and beat her!!! Try getting a tutor, I bet if you found someone that could explain it to you you would get it just fine!

I was going to ask if there was a tutoring center or someone that could help. I am totally not a math person. One thing that would be nice about math is the fact that it doesn't matter if you teacher loves or hates you, it isn't an interpretive answer dependent on how they feel about your answer. It's either right or it's wrong.
If you can find someone to help you a little bit you can kick butt in the class and it won't matter what a beast the teacher is.

Mom has been talking about getting a tutor, and that's the LAST thing I want to do... But if I have to, I will. I'm thinking if everybody in the class does really bad (Which by the looks of it, we are.) then she may realize what she's doing wrong and starting teaching like a real teacher!
I don't like to think I'm stupid... Just at math and anything math related. I've never gotten it, and I never will. I've got all A's and B's in my other classes... So I guess THAT'S good...

Devin, just because ONE teacher is having trouble getting you to grasp her subject does not make you stupid. It means her style of teaching and your style of learning are not compatible. Do not refuse the aid of a tutor...........that can be absolutely wonderful. If you find one that can explain it to you in a language and means you understand, you will thrive! I am not sure why you are reluctant to get a tutor.............it is a resource you have available, use it!
