I've only been up for an hour or so, but so far this Friday has been a Friday of the best kind... Completely lacking official plans of any sort and hardly any priority that needs to be taken care of today.
Ahhh.... Me Time.

No, no, no... I merely meant that this is the Friday of a "Holiday Weekend" because it is going to be a three day weekend due to the actual holiday on Monday... Sorry if that was unclear!

Nope no boxing day here. Well I mean the day is a day here, but there is no day off, and no Boxing Day celebrations. Wait, do they have boxing day celebrations there? Do they have special Boxing Day foods? Ceremonies? Costumes?

If you call "everyone pile into shopping centers for 50% rebates on everything" a celebration, then sure It's not really a holiday, more like extended Christmas shopping Ok, now that I think about it, it's not really 50% off everything, more like 50-80% off on everything

But Ludwig isn't there some historical meaning to the holiday?

OK the story behind Boxing day originates in England where the rich families would box the leftover foods from the christmas dinner and give it to the poor the day after christmas - hence Boxing day
And Aussie celebrate Boxing Day too
