I would bring a suit. If I can put my big assed pasty white self in one then there is NO reason for anyone else to not have one.
One thing I really wanted to do last year but didn't was play on the water slide. I am going to put that on my todo list this year. Last year we only swam on the excursion. I am going to change that this year, maybe.
I read one CC (cruisecritic) post where they had awful weather, I don't think a small sweater would be bad to have.
I would love to have the airport locker option. We are driving ourself, but maybe not. I may wrangle my son into taking us and we can do the leave the coat in the car thing.
Kent actually has a new coat that we bought at the airport in Minneapolis a few years ago on our way to Cleveland. I didn't realize until we landed that I had left my coat in the back seat of our car. I get so hot that I take it off and run off of residual heat until it all wicks away. (menopause is going to be a bitch!) They didn't have a BBW shop in the airport so I bought a guy coat that now belongs to my husband. We laugh about how "I bought" him a new coat.
Evidently I am quite the chatty cathy today. Sorry folks, it's the Brenda show! Really makes you want to meet me in person, doesn't it? Bwahahahaha
Dragon, I think about conversions all the time. Are you fluent in both? I can't do either, which should be against the law. I am such an American. Lazy buggar.

surprising I might. I know I never took mine out of the suitcase last year. I was really afraid to try swimming on the ship and it sounded like it might make me seasick and there was no way I was inviting problems that I thought would happen but didn't!
What's wrong with Chatty Cathy? I love her as a kid!

Surprising, I am taking you down that water slide!!! We will take our pasty white (or lily white as I like to call my skin color), big behinds and have a slide or 5!
I am always thinking about the conversions too, I got a cool clock for the nightstand that shines the outdoor temp and time on the wall (because I wear glasses and can't see the clock) but the temp is "American"! Hey you are not lazy, I changed here when I was in school and I have never been that good at it.

Go for the swimsuit! Go for the slide!
One of the cool things about last year was that it was overall such a non-judgemental group of people. There seemed to be very few examples of people trying to out-cool each other. Thank heaven!
I wonder if actually floating in the pool would make a person more or less seasick? Would the water tend to move less and the ship tend to move around it? Hmmmm, interesting physics problem.

I agree binski, that is one thing I wanted to do but never did. One reason was I only have one swimsuit and I was nervous it wouldn't dry in time for the excursion.....as you know, that would be like putting nylons on when your legs are wet....not easy and NOT pretty. I am not going to kill myself trying to find another suit (don't really need 2 "in the real world) and will use the laundry facilities if need be.
Not sure about the water/seasickness thing either.

Okay, bring some clothes line and let your suits blow in the wind and they dry pretty quickly.
I never swam on the boat, but I would love to. I am so into playing on the slide. Let's do it!
Last year the only time I really remember seeing people playing in the pool was on the Guster day (Thursday?) when everyone was having some seasickness issues. The pool was rocking on that day and I was a little envious I wasn't playing.
I am so there with you guys. It sounds like so much fun!
K... I am off to bed.

We saw people in the pools and hot tubs quite a bit and the one day it was sloshing over the side with every heave of the ship. I am very prone to seasickness and just knew I would have trouble on the cruise, hence why the large assortment of treatments. I only had a slight feeling of it once when I was packing in the cabin and had my head down, all it took as me going up on deck and sitting for a short time. Anyway I watched the pool and thought, dang that would do it in an instant. Not worth the risk to me. That and I really am a people watcher and had more fun watcher Scooter and the guys playing around.

Can you guys get the motion sickness patches down there? I know that is what really helped flipper. I can bring some if anyone needs them and they aren't available to you.

I remember standing at the sail away show from Grand Turk and looking down at the empty (I think maybe closed?) pool below us and watching the water slosh out the far side..... then slosh back toward us.... sloooooosh over the far side..... slooooosh back at us... I remember thinking as I was watching it, "Boy, I sure am glad I don't get seasick!"
And I did try the waterslide last year. I've never been so disappointed in a waterslide in my life!!! It is the only waterslide I've ever been on where the heavier you were, the SLOWER you went! Usually I outstrip my sister in speed down a slide at an exponential rate, but I hardly moved on that slide. Apparently the secret was to have as little skin touching the slide as possible and "shoulders and heels" were the way to go (according to a friend of Amy's). I'm definitely doing the slide again this year, hopefully it is better than last year but if not, I'm totally trying the "shoulders and heels" method!

I know you like a rip roaring speed on things but as much as I like waterslides I don't mind slow....now slow to the point of boring is bad, we will have to see!

This was slow to the point of... STOP. I had to sit up at one point and scoot myself down the slide!

iled I am sure you could find someone to use them if you brought a couple. If I didn't have to get a prescription I would just to have. I mean last year I had everything else!
