Well, it's Thursday. My hump day this week. Working 9 until 6. Going to lunch with a co-worker who just got back from Europe. This is both our first day back at this office from holidays. We are both dreading it. Sad huh?
What's everyone glt planned for the weekend? I'm donating blood Friday night, fun!

It is weird to go back to work after so long off. On Tuesday I was so awkward with my first patient, it was like I was a student all over again. Once I got the morning out of the way however, it was like I never left. And yeah, big exciting day for me today! Work 7:30 until 4:30, and then hit the blod donor clinic at 5! Can you say par-tay? Hopefully it's not too busy and I get through pretty quick. And hopefully my iron level is acceptable today, sometimes I get turned away due to low iron. I started donating after Jonah was born and I saw how blood transfusions saved his life and realized what a demand for blood there was. I hate having blood taken, but it's worth it for the good feeling you have when you're finished.

Yes Dragon, you should donate. Everyone should. Here in Canada, something like only 3% of eligable Canadians donate. I started after my 2 year old nephew was born with a severe heart defect that required several open heart surgeries and blood transfusions. I also put myself on thebone marrow donor registry. I hate having blood taken, but the feeling of accomplishment when it's done is more than worth it.
Well, happy Thursday to all. I'm a bit sad because my Grandpa left to go home this morning. The 2 weeks flew by. He had to get up at 4 am because his flight left at 7 am. So I was up early and then laid back down for a bit but am so darn tired today.
On a positive note, Tuzzi's hubby is coming over to rip up my floors and prepare them to be tiled today! I'm so excited.
You know, after years of being crapped on at the glass plant, he finally reached his breaking point and got out. He started tiling this yearwith a friend and was really good at it. Now he still works with his friend, but he's getting his own business going and it's pretty exciting. He seems to be in so much better spirits and much happier.
Now Tuzzi needs to get ut of the glass plant.
But, I wish you all a happy Thursday! I'm working until 6 pm, then hitting the gym after work then going to bed early. Yawn.

Jessica how exciting to see the start of the renovating!!! Congrats to Tuzzi's hubby for making a break and kicking butt on the other side. Perhaps once he is up and established she will be able to break out too!!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will be off the computer tomorrow, as our internet does not go in until next week, but I will be busy like a bee all day. Lots to do and discover while the people put in the blinds and I await the delivery of the refridge.

Wow, I haven't donated for almost a year. Bad person! I have to take a ton of iron for a couple of weeks before donating or my iron is too low. I have NO idea why. I thought that problem would be taken care of when I had that female surgery (TMI) but it hasn't. I really hate loading up on iron, there are ugggly side effects. (more TMI) but they won't take it otherwise. I have asked them too anyway because they told me that the iron level needed to be higher for MY benefit, not the blood banks benefit, but they won't do it. Something about me passing out.... *eye roll* Oh, and they moved the blood bank to the other side of another town and it is a pain in the caboose to get to.
Okay, let's see if I made enough excuses to justify to myself why I haven't done it for a while.
I better go take some iron. I am feeling like a selfish "B" right now.
Good luck on your move BNLater. I hope things go smooooooothly.

Well, after reading this thread and how much blood donation does and how easy it is to do I went and donated blood while I was out running around. I was RIGHT on the line at 38 so they let me. I am going to add an iron tablet to my morning pillganza and send myself a reminder that I am eligible on Oct 18 to donate again.
Okay guys, here's a challenge for you...
....before next Thursday give blood. Can ya, huh? Can ya? Will ya? huh? Will ya?
