The Rotor!! Sadly, that was long gone from Cedar Point... well, I think possibly before I was born, but definitely before I could ride anything like that. Something about those rides being dangerous... dangerous, schmangerous!  My parents will tell some fond stories of The Rotor though, and it has its own tombstone in the Ride Graveyard for Halloweekends. You can see the aforementioned graveyard on the Main Midway Cam, not the first oval of grass and bushes, but the one further from the cam that is a wider oval. I want to go!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Alright. So. La Ronde was amazing. Better than I remembered it, although we didn't spend that much time there on Sunday. Did the Monstre once, the Cobra once, and the Goliath twice. I chickened out for the Vampire though, but I most probably would've either barfed or felt really unsteady on my feet afterwards. I mean, I was already dizzy just looking at it! The Goliath was AMAZING though. We made sure to go back a second time before we left, and we sat in the front. And it was a lot better the second time around  So yeah, great fun all around. No COAS anywhere though (thank goodness...) |

Ludwig, it sounds like you had a great time. I would go to a park today just to be outside instead of inside cleaning!

The Rotor ROCKED!!!!!! I loved that ride! I think they took it out after the season that I rode it, I was 7 and Andrea was in a stroller! I was freakishly tall for my age so I could ride a lot of stuff that a 7 year old probably shouldn't ride, but I LOVED IT!!!! The Rotor and the Witch's Wheel were my 2 favorite rides back then. Not anymore!!!! This girl does not like to spin! That's not true, I love to spin, I just don't like the crawling across the midway to lay in the grass and try not to hurl afterward! www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/thrill/witches_wheel/index.cfmLudwig - the Goliath looks like an AWESOME ride! And I'm with you on the Vampire, NO WAY!!!! We have a ride just like it at Cedar Point called the Raptor and I've only been on it once, I had to be carried off! I am so jealous of you Ludwig... getting to ride Goliath, not just once, but TWICE!!! I'm really glad that you had so much fun though, any future plans for going back? How far is it from where you are at McGill? Did you take any pictures? Personally, I would have gone on Vampire, but seeing as the Raptor at Cedar Point is one of my favorite rides, that would explain things. Plus, you so don't know what you are missing by not having COAS! Don't knock it 'til you try it! |
