Well, not me. But anyone who might need a little luck. I was going to put this in the Hug thread, but thought it was a bit different enough to have it's own little nook in the Random Board. I'm a relatively big believer in karma and good thoughts and what not, and it would be much appreciated if anyone could send some good vibes my way come Thursday at around 2:00PM as that's when I have my road test. I've come to try and take on a "If I fail, I fail. Nothing I can do about it." type of mind set, but for some reason I'm becoming sick to my stomach over this. And maybe someone can post something they might need some good thoughts for and I can return the favor?

Don't worry about it Burnt just be confident and focus.........don't think too hard about it, and relax.
I'm right there with you on the Karma. Good vibes will be with you from me!

Burnt, I agree with everyone, you must relax like in any test. If you know your stuff, be yourself, be confident and they may not notice you are scared! Good Luck!!!!

I'll third that motion for you, Burnt! I didn't get my license until I was 18 either, but I did pass on the first try. I just went in there and drove like I always drove when I was out practicing with my parents. Oddly enough, I passed my maneuverability with a 95% and I only passed my driving with an 80%... And I SUCKED at maneuverablility!! Driving backwards was NOT my friend! I lost all my points for the driving portion for two reasons, 1) I was driving an SUV so you have to use your sideview mirrors more than turning around and looking over your left shoulder since you don't see anything when you do that anyway but apparently that's against "THE RULES" you MUST look over your shoulder (even if you can't see anything), and 2) You know those little useless lines they put near intersections that just stick out like a bump from the center lines but serve no real purpose because people just drive over them because if you don't you're really impeding the flow of traffic? Yeah well, the instructors don't like when you drive like a normal person, so avoid driving through them! Okay, those are my pointers!!

Can't help with you the driving bit but...relax. You can always take it over, and... chill. You're probably pretty great and stressing about it won't do you any good. Take a nice long bath, or run, or do something that calms you like two hours before...
GOOD LUCK. (I'll be thinking about you, even though I'll be in a test.)

Hmm... Friday I have a Math quiz (rational expressions) a Spanish quiz (preiteret (SP?)) and a French quiz (vocabulary from an article)...and POSSIBLY a Chem test. There's a history test sometime but I don't know when it is...and I have to be prepared for a 2 minute recap of a book I read over the summer for English...
So...yeah. I don't know. That's school for you.

Ughhh. Chemistry. I think the only A I ever got on a Chem test was the memorization of the periodic table. Which is basically the furthest away you can get from doing actual chemistry work.
Spanish verb tenses make me dizzy.
Good luck on them all!

Burnt, my kids go to spanish school here in Calgary! It is a new program (5 years old), they are taught 50% spanish and will be bilingual when they graduate, they also get a diploma from the Government of Spain. I hope it works for them. Are you in high school? How much spanish have you taken before? I hope you stick with it, as a person much older than yourself, I wish I would have taken a 2nd language!

Yep, I'm in highschool, iled. My senior year and I'm in Spanish 5, but have taken it for 6 years. 7th and 8th grade both count as Spanish 1. I do relatively well on tests and quizzes, but when it comes to applying it in life, I'm hopeless. It seems as soon as we're done being tested on it, I throw it out the window.
I wish that my school had a foreign language program when I was in elementary school - Don't they say children retain language information better when started early?
My cousins, who live out in San Francisco, go to a school that does half english have Chinese and from what I understand they speak it really well.

Good luck with all the tests over the next fews days for all. I will split my thinking vibes out to all. I wish I could help with the Spanish...but I only have a small amount of knowledge, even though I live in southern California!!
