Wow, nonick, that waterpark looks great! What body of water is the beach on that you can see in the first picture with the roller coaster in the background? How far is that from your place?

It's much closer to Nonick than me... But ILED, it's close to a 2 hour drive for me! It truly is the best place in the world for rollercoaster fanatics!!
And the lake!! Lake Erie is amazing to look at when you are on the rollar coasters!!
Ohh.... (if I didn't have to work this weekend I would think about going!!I love it there!)

Looks like an awsome place! There is nowhere at all around here like that. The great lakes are amazing, although I have seen them I have never seen a beach at them. Maybe someday as our kids would love it.

Sorry for the delay! The waterpark, Soak City, is AWESOME!! It's gotten to the point where I almost enjoy Soak City more than Cedar Point! And everyone else already told you that the water is Lake Erie, southern shore. The beach there is nice, I mean, it's not southern Florida or anything, but for northern Ohio it's nice! They have a life guard on duty there, too. Cedar Point is just over an hour drive from where I live. Sometimes less, sometimes more, all depends on traffic really. Fastest I think we've ever gotten there was 45 minutes. I'll definitely claim that land speed record. Mob, just let me know if and when you decide to make the trip, and anyone else for that matter!! They're open two more weekends including this one!! My sister and I get season passes every year and are planning to be there these last two weekends. The last two chances to ride White Water Landing!!! I'm going to cry!!!

Ok... how come I missed this thread? Most probably because I never come to this part of the board, but now I'm bored, so hey, why not... Old castles... I once stayed in an old sanatorium (those places where people went to get cured from TB)... It was with an exchange group in Saskatchewan, and, like, people had actually died in that place and all... we even had a tour at night, and the tour guide told us that there was a certain room in the hospital that has had recurrent ghost appearances, and it turned out to be mine... Funny thing is, I slept like a baby, while the rest of the group got the shit scared out of them because of different happenings. I was seriously the only that remained undisturbed all night. It was funny, cause I got up around 6:30, and I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and stuff, but people were walking around looking scared... When they told me the stories, I had a hard time believing them, but they still hold their word for it even today... Oh, and I got an award for that night at the end of the trip Ok, all this to say, if you don't bother ghosts, they won't bother you Next: Mob, d'you figure out where your going yet?

Nah... we keep on changing our minds.... So many things to do for a 30th celebration.... Maybe I'll have all my friends come to me and we can hang out on the boat, BBQ, and drink like were we 20....ok maybe not the last, because then I wake up feeling like I'm 60!
I have to take a couple buisness trips soon, so maybe I'll have my friends tag along and crash in my room....
Not to mention... I will be cruising!! but that's after everyone's 30th...
I would love to spend the night in a haunted castle... I love that sort of thing!!
edited to add..... we are also thinking of taking a medical mission trip some place tropical... enjoy the scenery, and help out mankind... that sounds like a great way to celebrate our three decades!

Yeah, the mission thing? went to Belize a couple years ago and now we are looking at the dominican republic.
I like to help out, but only under certain circumstances....
I will not for any reason sleep anywhere that requires mosquito netting.... it's so not romantic.....and when you are on the top bunk it is realy difficult to get in and out of! infact I would like to sleep on a bed... we slept on a foam pad on a wooden bunk bed.
I would prefer not to take malaria prophylaxsis again. It made me feel really sick to my stomach and gave me crazy dreams!
I would prefer to go for a short amount of time... it can get emotional and physically tiring!
But honestly, I would still do it again in a heart beat..... ;D mosquito netting and all!

yeah, I've been scarce for a while, I know... and this threads been lazing, too if people can swing going outside the country, Barcelona is amazing. When we went (family vacation, etc) we rented an apartment for the four days we were there from www.lovingbarcelona.comgranted, it's also a lot of Spanish/Catalan... but it's worth the price of the dictionary and embarassment/adventure *shrugs* but that's just me
