not a pun.
so my day started off really sucky. and nothing happened to make it improve.
you see, on friday, my college counselor told me to show up on monday morning 7:30 sharp. well, my bus doesn't get to school until 8:00. So on sunday, I called everyone i could think of to take me to school early. the only person who would do it, of course, was my ex. Today was the first day he had his license. and it was bitterly ironic to me that part of the reason he had been so excited about getting it was so that we could go places together, and now that we aren't together, I was still the first person to share the experience with him anyway. but thats besides the point. I got to school, and my counselor wasn't there. he didn't show up till, like 8. so i put myself through tbat emotional torture- for nothing. thank you college counseling.

Jane, I am sorry but I would look at his flaking as confirmation that you made the right decision before. There are times when it is nice to look and go... "oh yeah, I did the right thing." Your college counselor should understand scheduling with transportation, esp with the gas prices. Wowzers.
Sorry you are having a bad day. *hugs*
My evening was lovely. Miranda and I took the kids out to dinner and then went out to "Fright Lights." It was a cheesy light show that you walk through and then Madelyn made smores at the campfire ring. She had a great time. I will try to get some pictures up.
Vincent was an angel. The weather was in the mid 60's. Perfect, perfect, perfect.
It was a nice evening.

Sounds like a great time surprising! How did the party go?
Is everyone ready for the trick or treaters?

actually, my counselor was just like, oh well, and shrugged at me. but i was hot. i was so angry with them.
surprising, he didn't flake on me, he actually did a very nice thing by driving me. although i have since had another confrontation with him. but i'm done now. no more. i'm just not going to talk to him at all if i can help it.

A joyous new Monday to everyone. <last-week hugs for jane> It's old news, but the kids had a great time trick-or-treating; Linnea and I went out with a group of neighborhood moms who always bring a wagon and a six-pack along, which definitely improves the walk around the neighborhood. Linnea was a ghost with white and black makeup, her hair sprayed white, white clothes and gloves, and a white hooded cape. Oh, and a glow-stick hooked to her costume for extra visibility. Bridget went around with three other girls her age; she painted all her exposed skin green, wore green clothes, made a green pointy hat, and was a green colored pencil. (Her best friend was a blue colored pencil.) Bridget's getting pretty wound as As You Like It is coming up in a week and a half; she has all 180 of her lines memorized (!!) and is going to be great. She asked me to be backstage and help her with her two very fast costume changes - girl to boy disguise and back again in very short periods of time. She's wearing my wedding dress for the final scene, which (bizarrely) fits her extremely well, even to the length. My folks are flying out to see the play. My ex and his folks are coming up too - different performance. Oh, good, I get to see my ex-mother-in-law... Okay, that's all the news that's fit to print... It's been pretty busy here as Linnea is coming up for her 3-year Individualized Education Plan re-evaluation and I have been taking her for re-checks at the center downtown that diagnosed her so I have their opinions and not just the school's. I have a bit of time today, though, and am hoping to catch up on some back posts so I know what's up with all of you. Hugs to everybody.

Sounds like an awful morning, Dragon! My cat literally "knocks" on my bedroom door, and sometimes she decides to do it endlessly in the middle of the night. And I know if I let her in, she'll just keep knocking on the door to go back out!
I still don't feel right, after a week... I'd rather be at home sleeping right now than sitting in this stupid class with nothing to do.. I get so bored!!
Hope everyone has a good monday... as hard as it is anyways.

I "thought" I was being nice. When Kent and I got married I let him become the giver of the food so the animals would bond with him.
It worked almost too well.
In the morning when Kissy (Kismet, my tuxedo cat) wants to be fed he will wake "daddy" up for his food. Kent can usually make him go away but not always. Little monster has a great internal clock and it doesn't matter if it's the weekend or holiday or daylight savings time. He always wants to be fed in the neighborhood of 5:15. Kent will drag himself out of bed to go and feed the kitties before coming back to bed on the weekend, and I lie there, blissfully warm, toasty and asleep.
Bwahahaha

Happy Monday morning everyone! It's a stat holiday here. It's very windy out today. I'm sitting here waiting for Shaw cable to come and pick up my modem and siconnect my cable. Then I have to figure out how to get my new Telus modem hooked up. Shouldn't be rocket science, I hope! I trust you all had a good weekend? It was my sister inlaws birthday. We saw her dad perform, and her mom and sister play music, for a local production of Oliver! It was fantastic. Then we ordered in pizza and had cake. Not too exciting, but nice anyway. It's always good to hang out with people you love. Well, I hope you all have a great start to the week! Better finish surfing the net before Shaw comes and cuts me off
