Ahhhh ms nonick, nice try. But you can use flameless candles or replicas of candles, but you can't celebrate Hannukah without them.

It's just so hard to believe, because in everything else, Nonick is so festive!! I just couldn't imagine her a Scrooge!

I'm not usually a Scrooge, but this has been a rough latter half of 2007. It has led to a perpetually grumpy state for pretty much all members of my family.

That only goes to show one thing nonick...........that you ALL need some festive decorations!

If the Festive Decorations Fairy wants to come and put them up, then she is more than welcome! Otherwise, it's a no go this year.

If I lived closer you can be sure you would have a tree fully decorated at your house, but alas I do not.

Sorry things are so rough Nonick. Sometimes you have to lie to yourself and pretend to be all "happy happy joy joy" and the next thing you know life is better. Not good necessarily, but better. I am a big liar, liar pants on fire sometimes. Sometimes it even helps.

Get drunk. Drink lots of alcoholic beverages, then phone me and I'll talk you into decorating. Get going, make that first dirty martini already!

<hugs for nonick> I second the alcoholic beverages proposal. I got the 10,000 lights all on the tree, finally - think i will have pine sap on my hands till next Christmas. It looks and smells lovely, though. And so far Hazel the puppy is not eating it. (give her time, though.)

binskki I have never had a dog bother my tree. I did have a Bernese Mountain Dog that tended to be static-y and when he walked by the tinsel would jump on him! He was decorated all season long!! It really was quite funny.
Well the big tree is up and lit. It needs ornaments and then tin icicles. A friend lent me a small fake tree for the living room window. It is up, lit, with some ornaments and snowflake garland. I have 49 doz cookies in the freezer, so my season is well underway!
